These videos are amazing, I'm studying medicine and they help me so much. I wanna show my friends these videos but I live in a Spanish speaking country, so it'd be hard for them to understand. I don't know if this sounds too crazy but you guys should put subtitles, not just Spanish, I'm sure many people would benefit from this. Anyway great video.

I am 65 years old and my MM was detected on September 2016.Useful information.I had gathered this information from multiple myeloma research foundation.in my case the autologous stem cell transplant did last for 60 days only. I have multiple bone lyric lesions with 9 fractured vertebrae and three fractured ribs. Undergoing Maintenance Bortezomib chemotherapy every 14 days since past 10 months.Cytogenetic FISH report and bone biopsy shows VGPR.I have 3 clinal damages t(4,14),1q amplification and hyper diploids. Three fellow MM patients in age groups of 53,59 & 66 years died in last 3months two years after autologous stem cell transplant. May beI am next in line as my stem transplant was done 18 months ago.

lytic lesions from multiple myeloma wouldn't show up on a bone scan --you'd want to do a skeletal survey instead, which is x-rays of the whole body. that'll show the lytic lesions.
@ghaidassweetdream81805 жыл бұрын
You'd see dark spots on an X ray or a CT that are indicative of lyric lesions (lysis performed by osteoclasts)

I think - paraprotein production leading to acute kidney injury. Thirst follows polyuria induced by hypercalcaemia (through osmotic effect and ADH desensitisation). Thirst isn't a feature necessarily of AKI.

Great Video Sir. A deeper understanding of the disease is important. And then consulting a doctor about the same. I knew one of the best hematologists in India. His name is Dr. S. K. Gupta. You can consult him for treatment or for a second opinion also. He does video consultations too if you can't visit his hospital.

I have Multiple Myeloma. I've had a difficult time explaining this disease to my family and friends in an easy to understand format. I'm passing this video on to them. Thank you for making this for us. I follow my blood labs closely but I don't understand all of the workings of each item listed. Do I need to understand all the data? I follow my kidney function and my blood cells and platelets and IgG and IgA, etc., how should I keep tracking the progress of my diseases?

Depends on which form you have. I'd add the Free Light Chains to your check and monoclonal pics if pertinent to your personal diagnosis. I also recommend talking with your doctor about understanding the meaning of the results. I do realize that the message is a year old so I hope you are well. Sending good vibes your way.
