I won't suggest doing it, keeping open ears gets an idea how u are sounding, what I do in begining is hold my phone not too far from my ears and try match up the scale, then repeated time i do it just along keep phone away from ears

There is no practice of taar saptak...one thing you can do, you can set higher pitch and practice paltas. Like if you sing generally in c#, you should start practicing alankars and paltas from F. This is how you can achieve good grip on higher notes. And do it after afternoon only....it's not advisable to do in the morning. Thank you
