Indeed they have excellent technical talent through out the time. Amazing directors, cinematographer, screen writers. Their biggest problem was that people outside kerala had difficulty accepting the cultural differences just the same way as hindi movies are no consumed equally well by western audiences. Now, with content that surpasses cultural differences people are more willing to accept. It's unfortunate but it's good in the long run as people have started looking back at old content now that they have tasted the value.
