There is also "fan service" where romance kinda comes into play. Sometimes kpop idols say romantic things to fans bc it's their job. So i think all of that collectively raises kpop stans standards

That's not too bad but make it a healthy one-sided love. You know there's zero chance you'll meet them in person except if u attend their concert/fan meet but you're just one of the millions loving them. They might never know you. They also have an image to project then there's fan service. Sure they love their fans but take not "fans", as in everyone of the millions. They might be really nice in person but you know it's highly unlikely you can ever have one of them as a lover. But like I said, it's not so bad to feel that way but please make sure to live in "real life", and not in your head as the song goes. Your idols would want you to live a normal life on your own as they live theirs. 💜

Being a - Kdrama fan, Cdrama fan, Cnovel reader, Kpop multistan fan, I can relate to each & every word here. I had a relationship that was full of controlling & dominance. After ending that relation, I built up trauma & fear of relationship. What if my future partner says something normal but my traumatic mind starts overthinking!. Then I saw my father having affair more than one time with different women, I saw my friends relationship and marriage ending on a bad term. All of these created a resistance towards real world men & made myself rely on fictional men. The standard these fictional men has created, very few real world men can come close to these. I am not disrespecting men as I know right man surely exists, but my own and surrounding experiences has ruined my perception of love.

But I searched the writers that you mentioned & They seem to write modern novels. You are my Glory, Go Go Squid dramas are their novel's adaption right? I usually don't read modern genre that much. So I didn't read any of their novels. But I can name one writer, cause I've read some of her novels, Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. Heart protection (Back from the brink drama), The Blue Whisper, The Legends, Seven Unfortunate Lifetimes (Love you seven times), Overturning the world, Mulberry song, Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang. If you haven't read any of these, you can try. Her novels are on my favourite lists.
