Summary: -Khunais ibn Hudhafa As-Sahmi was the older brother of Abdullah and Qais. -His nickname was Abu Hudhafa (even thoug he never had a son named Hudhafa) -He accepted Islam before Dar-ul-Arqam through the dawah of Abu Bakr ra. He was just a teenager. -He brought his two brothers, seven cousins and four other members from Banu Sahm and made hijrah to Abyssinia. -He returned to Makkah & married Hafsa ra (oldest daughter of Umar ra). -Umar, Khunais and Hafsa ra made hijrah to Madinah. -Prophet PBUH paired Khunais ra off with an Ansar named Abu Abs ibn Jabar ra who was the brother in law of Muhammad ibn Maslamah ra. -Khunais ra was the only member from Banu Sahm who fought in the Battle of Badr. His brothers were too young to fight. -He suffered a wound in Uhud that caused him to die sometime later. -Prophet PBUH led the janazah of Khunais ra and buried him next to Uthman bin Madh'oon in Al Baqi'.
