Hi John, I can tell you that there are a lot of people around the world knows about Songkran festival either through media or experiences when they visited Thailand. It’s one of the biggest festival here, it’s also a public holidays for government officials and most companies, It’s our tradition that goes as far as our ancestors goes really. On the side note, Cambodia had gone through genocide in the past that kills tons of citizens who have educations, smart, talented, you name it. Since then the country seem to loose their identity, culture, traditional, etc. The new generation watch Thai tv, influences by Thai celebs and all sort of things, at this point they can’t even tell the difference of their national custom and the list goes on. I recommend you look up some vdo about genocide and their history a lil bit might explain a few things.

Cambodia doesn't have Songkran, there's no water splashing. Cambodia just held its first Songkran festival a few years ago. But they claim Songkran belongs to Cambodia and accuse Thailand of being cultural thieves. Even though the Songkran Festival falls in the dry season in Cambodia, Cambodia has no water and must import drinking water and water for use from Thailand.😂😂😂 Waiting to see next April You will see many pictures of Khmer people coming to buy water from Thailand along the border

สงกรานต์ เป็นคำไทยถูกแล้ว แต่รากฐานมันมาจากภาษาสันสกฤต คือ คำว่า สังกรานติ สังกรานตะ แต่ละประเทศจะออกเสียงต่างกันไป อย่างของไทย เรียกวันสงกรานต์ ไท-ไต เรียกวัน สังขาร และประเทศอื่นๆก็จะออกเสียงตามสำเนียงตัวเอง แต่รากภาษามันมาจากสันสกฤต ถูกแล้ว เขมรจะมาสงกรานต์ตามไทยไม่ได้นะจ๊ะ😂

Event Ankor Wat made by Khom people not Cambodian people. Ancient Khom was Siam then become Thai. Shame you Claimbodian, opt Cambodian that they wanted to claim Songkran festival from Thailand that not belong to you Claimbodian. Why do they want to claim it? Because the Songkran tradition is already famous and has been around longer than the newly established country of Cambodia. They want to attract tourists and the fame of the Songkran tradition for themselves and are selfish by claiming the old stone wall. It is convenient not to have to create fame or tradition by themselves.

วัดอังกอร์มีหลักฐานชัดเจนว่าขอมเป็นผู้สร้าง ไม่ใช่เขมร ดูหลักฐานจากจีนและพม่าชัดเจนยืนยันด้วยจารึกและจดหมายเหตุ แต่เขมรแค่พูด สงกรานต์ไทยใช้มาตั้งแต่สุโขทัย มีจารึกชัดเจน เขมรใช้คำว่าโจรชนัมขเมย แล้วเป็นการเล่นแป้งไม่ใช่เล่นน้ำ เพราะเขมรไม่มีน้ำเล่น เอาคำว่าสงกรานต์มาจากไหน เคลมชัดๆ

Monk should never be part of politics.. if in Thailand monk be part of politics government arrested a monk or local people will kick monk out from be a monk this is what happens in Thailand… but Cambodia used monk for everything else to claim to anyone or to the government. But Cambodia trying to use a name call Songkran 1910 Cambodia brings monk to UNESCO to use a name Songkran like Thailand call songkran.. by the way Cambodia never call Songkran before in 100 years.
