If you use it in navel then fire the missile from pretty far out, and as soon as you do, turn around and do a loop tell your back behind it and if you do it right you can keep yourself at range will still being able to see and guide the missile

@@1717804 smaller one can almost be one shot and depending on how fast they can put out the fire and plug the whole it’s like a 1 in 3 on destroyers and I’ve only damaged cruisers

The warhead is about equivalent in explosive mass to some of the lighter air-dropped torpedoes. Depending on your aim you can oneshot destroyers, though likely you won’t cripple/kill much else heavier than one, since these don’t have any real delay fuse for penetration.

Excellent, thorough review, as usual. The Ki-48 is an aircraft I've wanted in-game for a while, even without the Ki-148 guided missile. For this reason, I'm disappointed by the incompleteness of its implementation. In addition to the absence of a bombsight and bomb bay doors that you mentioned, the aircraft is also missing its nose machine gun. I recently made bug reports concerning these, but they were shot down by a moderator, saying that the aircraft in game is specifically the missile carrier, which didn't have these features. All were removed either because they got in the way or weren't necessary for testing the missile. However, I believe they should be implemented, even if only for the conventional bomb loads. At the recommendation of the mentioned moderator, I made a suggestion on the forums outlining a way for the aircraft to essentially be converted to a standard, unmodified Ki-48 when conventional bombs are equipped. As of the time I am writing this comment, it is pending approval. There is one other missing feature for this plane: its dive brakes. The Ki-48-II Otsu was a dive bomber variant, and so it was equipped with dive brakes for the job. I made a report concerning this as well, and fortunately it was accepted, so hopefully the dive brakes will come soon. These would definitely assist with using the Ki-148, helping the player to slow down to let the missile go ahead. It could also allow for one to drop the missile in a dive, somewhat permitting its use like a Bullpup.

An extra 7.7 in the nose isn't going to help much. But yeah, if they have a "mod" that can toggle an M1 from plain jane to an OPFOR VISMOD, they could have had one for going from the Ki-148 carrier to the vannilla Ki-48 bomber. So Gaijin to do something .almost. right.

@@obsidianjane4413 The gunners on the aircraft are 7.92 mm Type 98s (even thought the dorsal Mg is 3D modeled as a different machine gun, another bug to report), which are essentially Japanese MG 15s, which are actually pretty decent at lower tier with their high fire rate and decent ammunition. In addition, a nose gun would better allow for one to fly the aircraft offensively once the payload has been dropped, something I personally like to do with my bombers.

@@Micro-Lander exactly i had the requirements to get this in no time flat while grinding out crew skill points at the lowest multiplier mostly with a 109f4 and a6m2 i was able to get a loot box the majority of the matches i played and some times 2 from one match everyone that complained about this being hard is either lazy, a casual gamer or just flat out suck at the game cause a 1.0 plane or tank could have got this unlocked and if you put the time in you could have got this and one of the others

So apparently only around 100 of these were made, yet the US made over 5,000 ASM-N-2 Bats, Azons, VB-6 Felix's and Tarzons and they aren't in the game yet. While I'm dreaming can I also ask for some bouncing bombs too ?

production numbers have nothing to do with something being in game or not. The US absolutely dominates naval at every br other than 7.0, there is no reason they should get Fire and Forget IR guided bombs that one shot ships without you even being in AA range.

i killed a Von Der Tann with the missile in realistic battles, i've found that it's easiest to use in a slight dive from 1500-2000m with 0-20% throttle is the best strategy, for me at least.

I tried it in test flight and you can indeed kill planes with the KI-148. It will be very difficult to pull off but I can certainly see myself shooting down a BV 238 with this thing.

A question for those with more experience than me: Why does the Fritz-X still use a totally different guidance system than all other MCLOS missiles ? I honestly don't know which system is more realistic, it just seems like an old coding artifact that should be updated in line with all other MCLOS AGMs.

Because the Fritz X is not a guided missile, it is a bomb that free falls and is guided by the control of it's vanes. As far as I'm aware it is the only free falling bomb guided in this manner in game and thus it makes sense for it to retain that unique control scheme. It would also be weird for such a primitive weapon relative to modern guided bombs in game to be as ergonomic

@@rags417 the Hs 293 was a missile similar to the Ki-148 (has sustained flight with a rocket motor + horizontal glide rather than vertical fall) but for the VB-series bombs yes they'd most likely guide just like the Fritz-X

Because the Fritz X is a rocket assisted radioguided gliding BOMB. It's not designed for its engine to push it like a missile that can travel all directions. Still to consider a MCLOS but It freefall and the rocket and tail controls correct the course based on the bomber's reticle adjustments. It's fine like it is, and give battleships the Littorio treatment is always fun for me. Would have been fun to have something like the Grief with 3 bombs but for japan with this missile 😢.

i think because of different guidance system, Fritz X guidance now get simplified to laser guidance or similiar, while I Go missile use the same MCLOS system just like in present system

The issue here is that your not using any other view besides first person try the Virtual Cockpit you can use the bomb so much better.

I cannot wait to shoot down both the Ki-48 & Ki-148 in NF as I already know some players will definitely get tunnel visioned and launch way to close especially against larger corvette sized vessels (You'd be shocked how accurate 3" - 4" HAA is at distance & especially with radar sets guiding accurate fire from LAA guns when under 4km). Still I can't wait to see Smigol's likely troll video relating to aerial combat with the missile heh heh.

huge mistake to be going wep/100% when dropping the agm, it gets you closer then necessary. Something critical for attacking ships. its pretty good at ammo racking cruisers that have closely spaced main guns compared to attack PT/DD's
