Ki-84 Hei in War Thunder | Winstreak Fatigue

The Ki-84 Hei is a Rank IV BR 6.3 fighter, an up-gunned variant of the other Ki-84s at 5.3/5.7. Its flight performance is good enough but nothing special, especially when compared to other 6.0+ superprops. Its guns are excellent with great damage output and good velocity, letting you push headons with ease.
The main issue I have with playing this plane is that you and your team will almost always sweep the enemy team, so very rarely do you get any interesting dogfights, carries, or high-kill games.

If you like this, you’ll love the 7.0, now 6.7 spitfire. Thing absolutely sela clubs props, it climbs at like 25ms turns at 17sec, and caps out at 770kmh. It’s both a boom and zoom and turn fighter, if you know how to use it, jets don’t stand in your way

Japanese planes, even when underperforming, are generally extremely easy to play. I have the exact same experience in most of them. But IMO, the actual problem is that the abysmal stupidity of US teams has been making Air RB horribly unenjoyable lately, across all BRs. US teams have been bad for years but lately it has become unsustainable...

It's probably a combination of issues since even when I've been paired with the US teams, the Japanese team just swept like crazy. A lot of US players do seem to be very inexperienced though

A lot of US players are bad. Performance wise US planes are better than Japanese ones, but many experienced people play Japan.

The thing is, there are plenty of video guides on how to play most US planes on the platform, I think most of them are just really new to the game so don't know what resources there even are that they can use to help them learn. Even if I make some kind of vehicle review, it probably won't be seen by the people who need it the most.

might be cuz they have a low firerate, sometimes enemies will just fly through your rounds lol. Still, i like them for their high muzzle velocity and accuracy

all the Ki84s fly the same, the only difference is the guns, so the ones at 5.3 and 5.7 fly great for their br and their guns arent even that bad so I'd say the 5.3 and 5.7 ones are stronger for their BR

I play mostly as US. I am not good. Basically average to just below but I have fun. What I notice is that I side climb to get altitude and when I turn back it's 10v1. Either US players stay low or even if they climb, everyone is still above them.

america is not a great nation to start with because unless you are playing specific planes like the p38 or xp50 that get an airspawn, they take too long to setup and it takes a lot of experience to know when the best time to stop sideclimbing and reengage is, and yeah the teams are definitely subpar. Generally the russian/japanese/british planes tend to perform a lot better in the air rb meta so for people who have only played US planes and are having trouble i'd recommend those nations

Finally no more (almost) practice rounds for ap-belt with 1ap with 46mm and 3 ap with 36mm or so if I'm not mistaken.

a7m2 is a very solid plane. I didn't cover it because i don't think it's underrated and other people have already said most of what there is to say about it. I will say it is one of the easier planes to learn to get airburst rocket kills with, a fun way to play the game differently if you want. Ki84 hei is definitely overtiered, it's flight performance is not that of 6.3 and relies a lot on its guns (which work well but you're kinda forced to take headons). the earlier ki84s are a lot better since they fly the same but are at 5.3/5.7. They don't turn as well as the previous japanese planes but can go much faster and hold their speed in turns better. Kinda flies like a yak that doesnt rip as easily

A7M2 is a good plane, but having wings that big means your roll rate suffers, so you have to anticipate maneuvers a lot And I'm still a noob in it, spitfires and yak-3 make me cry

How do you deal with the entire enemy team forming a furball and your teammates one by one flying into them and getting killed until you and 2 Ta 152 H's are left over and you have to face the entire enemy team with 3 people, and you couldn't dive earlier because there were still P-51H's at your altitude so diving would have given them an advantage over you. What would you do?

lmao this sounds like a very specific scenario but some games you can't really do much to clutch out a win. If there are a lot of enemies left then its best to try and filter them and engage them one or two at a time, either by running or climbing until only a few are following you, though you can't always make it work. You can try to prevent your team from dying early by playing aggressive in the early game and taking more risks but that's also not the easiest to do either so sometimes theres not much you can do beyond trying your best

I never like doing head ons to much risk and not a lot of fun better to avoid it and set up for a fight

I plan on making a video on this later but I think headons are still a skill that's good to practice and improve on. A lot of planes don't have much positives other than firepower so they have to try and kill enemies before a dogfight starts. There are also situations where you need to take headons, especially in a multiple vs 1 situation where you need to take some risks to eliminate enemies as quickly as possible. Even in a 1v1, its still best to shoot as a deterrent, even if you dont intend on hitting, just so the enemy can't have a free shot on you while you merge. Headons definitely aren't the first thing I'd recommend teaching a new pilot but I still think its an important skill that has its use

The american teams around that br are terrible, in most of the games ive played in the P51H my whole team dives to the deck after an attacker and im more often than not the only one at altitude and the last one alive

@@CatWerfer idk bro i got like 3 aces today playing the a6m3 .. sure it's only 4.0 but it was mostly against the US when I got those aces 😂😭... And yeah at higher tiers it literally doesn't matter cause it's all about who shot first and who has the better missile kit, also not being dumb by flying higher than 50 meters above the ground cause then u get slapped by a radar missile 😂😂 top tier matches hardly last 5 mins according to what I have seen lmao

@@sinoj4254 kikka hasn't changed much since it was added. Its fast and has good engines but doesn't turn that well so its good in vertical loops and bnz. Adamtheenginerd and defyn have both covered them, and I'd say their videos are old but not outdated. Its stock grind sucks tho cuz you need to unlock the second gun and you don't have a good fire rate or ammo count.

6.0 is currently filled with so many brain-dead players and plagued with small matches. As long as you are not that bad it is very easy to wipe the floor with the enemy team. Well maybe not while playing Germany, the 1v6s can be challenging
