I have just fitted a dashcam to my 2017 Ceed GT Line using the instructions given here. It worked a treat, thanks very much.

Cracking tutorial. I have a Nextbase dashcam and a 2017 Kia c’eed, planning on hardwiring mine in soon. This will be saved to favourites and used as my instructions. Cheers 👍

Is there an easier way to work out which fuse to use? I’ve taken off the fuse box cover and there’s a diagram of the fuses on there so which one should I be looking out for to use?

Thank you for the guide - just one note, that wiring the cable around the pillar like that may end up restricting the airbag

I'll be hardwiring a camera into my Cee'd once I get the kit, but I'm not messing around getting a multimeter or anything like that. I've got my manual, so it's just a case of finding a "useless" fuse and piggybacking off of that. I'm also going to make sure I hardwire one into the van that I'm getting soon as it only has 1 socket. My car has 2, but I don't want cables everywhere.

In theory, could you also add another external battery in between so that it can record even longer in parking mode?

Yes.

Hi is it not for hard wire kit dash cam as for hard wire kit u need to connect yellow wire and red wire into fuse box u only connected 1 wire in to the fuse box and ground wire in to the bolt ...
@PJsprojects3 жыл бұрын
This guide is for a switched live powered camera only. You described a camera with parking mode that type would require a constant power feed and a switched power feed

Does it matter which way you plug in the piggy bank fuse? You didn't mention there are 2 ways
@PJsprojectsАй бұрын
@@charltheboy Do it the same way as the video. Fuses have what’s called a hot side.

Great video. So is it safe to use a mini fuse instead of the low profile ones? It's being driving me mad trying to get an adapter to fit the nextbase kit.

Can I just ask why you wired the cable under the air bag rather then over just in case on a crash
@PJsprojects5 жыл бұрын
Tbh it really does not matter if it goes under or over the airbag but if I don't mention it in the video I always get one or two people that panic thinking a tiny cable will stop the force of an airbag in some way.

PJs projects only reason I ask is I’m IMI Trained and if I did this I would lose my job as I fit dash cams and stereos for a living
@PJsprojects5 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I don't want this to come across as sounding off in any way but if your IMI trained and do this for a living why do you need to ask if the cable should go under or over the airbag or for that matter watch KZbin guides?

I was waitin for you show how to get fuse out cause mine wont come out.

I use ling nose pliers, the removal tools that come with cars are rubbish.

Please post a link to cable and fuse witch i need.
I cant understand why you wired it to a switched fuse, because to use parking mode you will need to use a constant live feed for this feature ?
@PJsprojects6 жыл бұрын
Depending on the camera some have battery back up and can run parking mode for a short period of time(up to a couple of hours). Also cameras without a parking mode do not want a constant power feed because if left on they would flatten the cars battery. However some cameras have a dedicated none switched power feed that powers parking mode for longer periods of time,say over night or if left at an airport for a week. Are you having problems with a parking made hence watching this video?

You could read the fuse map to know which one to connect your camera to
@Pen15UK4 жыл бұрын
I had a look at mine earlier and couldn’t work out which one it would be. Any advice?
