KIA EV6 - Blackvue DR900X Dash Cam Installation (step by step)

In this video I demonstrate how to fully install the Blackvue DR900X Plus, two channel dash cam in to the KIA EV6. I show all the necessary tools and equipment required to do the job correctly with minimal effort. I explain in detail how the fuse taps work, how to wire them up, connect them
to the fuse box, which type of taps to use with the KIA EV6 and how they work.
Although this video is predominantly about hardwiring the dash cam directly to the fuse box, I also touch base on two other connection methods - such as connecting and powering it via the 12 Volt adaptor, that came with the dash cam, as well as connecting it using an OBD connector.

Thank you very much for this video, I have watched countless KZbin tutorials on hardwiring the Blackvue Dashcam but all have fallen short with the details about the correct use of which fuses to use and which orientation to face the fuse tap. This is by far the most detailed and useful video instruction I have seen. I am trying to install the same dashcam for a Kia Seltos and you've ticked all the boxes thank you.

Ok, I've fitted my Nextbase 622GW front and rear cameras and I absolutely couldn't have done it without this video. It all went very well having seen how it was done. As I said below, I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to pull on the trim nor did I know that weather seals were so easy to remove! Thank you so much for this very detailed tutorial. It has been indispensable as I start my fitting of the Nextbase 622GW to my new EV6. I never really know how much to pull on a trim panel without seeing someone else do it first. Excellent. Thank you. I’m getting a Genesis GV60 next week so hopefully the installation will be very similar. Also helps that you also have a right hand drive vehicle. Consider getting an Endurance memory card. They’re specifically designed for constant recording.

I worked in the automotive industry for years as an engineer, but I have to be honest, these days I would be too scared to get as invasive with a modern vehicle as you did here. I have an EV6 arriving soon though, so maybe I'll regain some courage as it really ought to have a dashcam!

a recording problem started appearing a few days after installing the BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus camera, as it started not recording continuously during the parking mode, even though I chose continuous recording ! I thought it was because I was using a 32GB SD card, so I bought a 256GB SD card, but the problem persisted. then I discovered that the recording interruption was caused by the dash cam draining the car battery even though the car battery is new as I installed it less than two weeks ago ! that is why I advise everyone to buy one of the Blackvue Power Magic batteries to protect the car battery and get the most out of the dash cam.

My only question is, why would you bother with all of this when FitCamX takes about 3 minutes to install and works a treat! Is the BlackVue that much "better" to make it worth the effort? I won't even talk about the pricing difference

I don't like that dash cam because of used a smartphone charging all time and the battery will be swollen and i also i don'tlike to disconected from the charger everytime when the battery level get 100%
