I can’t tell you how happy that makes me! I made this video thinking 50 people “might” see it! I was a nervous wreck thinking about trying to fix it myself, or get 1/2 way into it, failing, and having to go to a garage or dealer!!! So awesome that you got it done too!

@@dkvh6520hey bro I think this is what I need now I already checked fuses and relays I also heard it could be the resistor I also heard it’s good to replace both at same time But I’m just gona replace the blower motor for now bc not much money. before you replace the motor, hit it with a hammer or whatever and spray lubricant. thank you for your video, helped me find my blower. but you spent way too much on a part you can get for 44 bucks.

My AC right now does these weird tap noise when i turn on the ac and it stopped blowing on 3&4 im looking into replacing the resistor but wondering if this could be the issue? Any suggestions?

Well, I’m not a mechanic, but I have heard that what you’re describing about 3, and 4 ad being the resistor. I had a Nissan years ago that would only blow on 4 and it was the resistor!! As for the tapping noise, I’m not sure about that! Pretty sure I saw a video about changing the resistor and fuse for the resistor and it didn’t seem super hard, but not as easy as the blower motor was for me.... Good Luck SuperWoman95!!!!

@@dkvh6520 thank you. Ive done more looking into it and i found out that the tapping noise is coming from the door actuator . Its missing a tooth & i need to replce the resistor to get 3&4 to work. Thank you for the input. Ive got some work on my hands! Lol

I’m not sure Steve? Did you look under the glove compartment? I think a few people that had up to 2018 Fortes said it’s in the same place! But maybe after 2018 they repositioned it? Wishing you luck and an inexpensive repair!!!

I have a 2010 kia forte and ordered a part to try this myself, but I’m running into some issues. First, I can’t seem to figure out how to disconnect the sensor. It won’t budge, and I don’t know how to get it out. Second, the other latch, I don’t know how to remove it. This is proving to be way harder than I thought sadly lol

Oh no! I’m not sure if the 2010 and 2012 are the same. Those plastic plugs can be tough- figuring out to either lift the clip or push down to release…. Try both and don’t give up:)…. As for the blower motor, mine twisted out very easily but was pretty hard to turn back into place!! I had to be persistent with it and at one point thought I was in trouble, but finally managed to give it enough pressure to lock back into place. No nuts, bolts or screws… Wish I could help more!

I just bought my blower motor for my 2014 Kia forte and thinking about doing it myself I paid 196 dollars for mine at Kia I rather have oem parts I know its not the resistor since I plugged a new one in still no air flow any tips to make easy to change

You have to be kind of flexible to get on your back and unplug the 2 connections, pretty sure it’s 2, might just be one(been a while)… when you turn it to take it out, its going to turn and drop out pretty easy! It’s not that heavy… it is A LITTLE tougher turning it back in, mine was… but didn’t needs any wd-40 or anything… take your time… But, it only takes a few minutes! Hope this helps!!!

I’m not an expert, and it doesn’t sound like the blower motor…. It could be a control module…maybe a fuse for the ac switch… or if the ac refrigerant is low, it might cause a short… I sure hope you can find out exactly what it is, and it’s not crazy expensive to repair!! Good luck okay!!

Yes, I agree!! I’ve always thought original parts are safest, best, and hopefully provide longer life than aftermarket, but you are 100% correct!

Fixing to have to do this with mine. Blower died. It's 101 in an asphalt jungle in alabama. My car is black. Had to drive 100 miles home today thru rain storms and all with no air movement. It's terrible.

Just curious if the setup would be the same for a 2010? Interior looks exactly the same. Sometimes the blower works, sometimes it doesn't 🤷‍♀️

Good Morning, I actually didn’t have to use any tools. Mine turned, and came out VERY EASILY, but I did have a little bit more trouble / effort turning the new unit back in! I’m wondering if you bought this used, (like I did mine) the previous owner used a self tapping screw somewhere to hold it up in there? But I just unplugged it, and turned it by hand without tools for mine. I’m sorry yours is being difficult!! Hopefully you can get a little help and it will free up!!!
