Hey guys, on some models it doesn't give the reset option. When you are on the service screen you press and hold the ok button for about 10 seconds, it will then ask you to confirm service reset an you press ok again. Cheers

Glad you added this- I couldn't remember what the trick was for mine (22 hatchback with tech pkg) and this is it.

No, my 2019 kia rio does not show oil life as scrolling through. Trip a, trip b, speed off, back to range. For some reason all of these videos do not show me this correctly.

Did you ever figure it out ?! It’s so annoying that it doesn’t show the oil light ever 😊
@Alaitha5 ай бұрын
I figured it out! When it says Change Oil, Reset or Cancel, click the reset button on the lower part of your steering wheel (right under Trip). Then you get three Options. Remind me later, reset it or turn it off. Use the 'Trip' button to cycle through the options, and hold it for 2sec to select your choice.

Make sure that you have handbrake on for the option to appear. It’s a safety feature.

10,000K? I change mine every 1,600-2500K.
@AutoMotiv8ed2 жыл бұрын
this car uses full synthetic oils, can last up to 15000k or 12 months.. doing it every 1000-2500km is not really nessesary

@@AutoMotiv8ed I find it necessary as my car has 480000K and it runs great, The inside of the engine is clean. I don't believe the 15000K or 12 months is appropriate. The most damage occurs to an engine by the fine metal particles the oil filter cannot trap. Oil also absorbs heat from the engine. If the oil filter becomes clogged you would never be able to tell, because of the bypass valve and your oil would not be filtered. The 15000k is for normal driving conditions, most people do not drive normally especially in the city. The engines accelerate rapidly and most often only to be stopped at the next traffic light and the process is repeated ad nauseam. Read your owners manual. Car manufactures don't care if you damage your engine and oil companies would indeed like sell more oil, but the competition is stiff and if the consumer buy their produce because of a perceived cost benefit then they gain more market share. Change your oil when you want and I will do the same.
