Kia Seltos Diesel - is this the pick of the lineup? Marius Roberts says YES!

I drove the range topping GT-Line with Kia's 1.4l turbo petrol when it first launch - a solid package indeed! But even then, I had a feeling that when the diesel finally made it to our market (South Africa), it would be the pick of the bunch based on application and price point.
So was I wrong? No...I don't think so!

My sister's got the manual 1.5 diesel. This is an excellent car. It's a pity he didn't mention how it eats up the slopes... I was towing with a full trailer 4 passengers and a full boot during the December 2022 holiday for about 1200 km. . This is where the diesel stands out for me, as I didn't feel the trailer behind me, even going uphill. But the best of all, we were doing between 4 - 4.3 liters per 100km.... It's a really solid vehicle, after driving the Jolion, Corolla Cross, and VW Cross... It top's all of them... And it's a Kia, therefore no problems with build quality and longevity....

Great car indeed! Look we were never towing but I did mention the space and performance as we were fully loaded. Still a standout for me.. Diesel - low down torque - always a winner for towing

You got me to buy one Marius Pity you journo,s dont ever do night driving exercises If you did you would find that this specific diesel models have been stripped of most of its luxuries offered in other markets. The candle lights that is offered is an absolute disgrace on this model Shameful of KIA SA

Umm we don’t just drive test cars in the day - I ‘live’ with them for a week. On that review I did long road trip to the Lowveld and that included driving on the national road at night - if you have driven to Nelspruit, you will know it’s not the greatest road & isn’t well lit at all. I had absolutely no issue with the headlights at all - the EX doesn’t have LED’s which will obviously improve illumination both in range and intensity but at that price point that’s normal - full LED lights are only on the top spec models. Not sure what car you owned before - if you had LED it will be a noticeable difference - sorry that you are not happy with them but there certainly isn’t an issue with them
