If you are in sport mode, it will stay in manual until you pull and hold the right paddle. Or changer drive modes.

I am being told that the kickdown will trigger a lower gear from several people now, when in manual mode. This is why companies are now making "anti kick down" clips that go on the bottom of your gas pedal.

@@TorkMotorsports yea mind seems to still kickdown if im still under 4k rpms when i floor it if im above 4k it wont kick down im pretty sure i havent tested it but thats what ive noticed

I have a forte 5 gt with the dct. If I push the shifter to the side into sport mode, it never kicks down in manual mode.

I noticed this is true for the 22 Forte GT but to get out of manual shift mode you have to hold a paddle

I found this out on my 23 GT2 the other evening. I was pretty excited about it because i heard about the earlier models not holding a gear

I have a 2022 GT2 and everything you showed is the same for me. Only exception is if I don't turn everything off then the car will NOT hold gear. But as shown in your video with everything turned off the car will hold gear and will only shift back to drive on a complete stop.

I have a 2023 GT2. I had the 2.0t before this one. When I was in sport mode on the 2.0t it never went back to Automatic if I was in sport. I have not tried it on my GT2 yet. She has not even been broken in yet. I will def. check out this feature.

I drive a G70 and In sport mode it won't kick down automatically, you have to use your paddle shifter. If I'm in first gear and I come to a full stop, I've noticed it will go back to auto drive mode.

Yea I knew this. When I go into a manual shift I just completely take over shifts for the car. It gets confused if you don't put the stick over. And if you do that the car won't feel out. But since you shift it when the case is in drive. It will stay there untill you stop. It's kinda cool to do it then forget it. But I know how to do both things well. I use both often

This is not manual shift car, also... cable shift cars will kick down when you floor the car. This, will not kick down when you floor it, its kind of weird and enjoyable at the same time. Electric shift cars do not have the ability to be "pulled over" into manual mode. The only way to get an electric shift car into manual mode is to pull on one of the paddle shifters.

I have 2022, I’ve done pulls in 3rd - 4th gear and if the rpm’s aren’t high enough the computer will automatically kicked down a gear upon full throttle in my experience. If I’m using paddles and don’t switch gears frequently it automatically goes back into drive unless I move the shifter over and drive manual that way, then it will just kick down to the lowest gear upon stopping.

That is for cable shifted cars, this is not cable shifted. This is an e-shift car/trans. The cable shift has the ability to manually put the car into a "gear hold" the e-shift cars do not have this option.

put it from drive to neutral then back to drive if you want to force it out of manual mode

@@TorkMotorsports The base Stinger GT in Canada got power lift gate, and shift by wire, when US owners needed a GT1 to get those options.

in my 2022, when in manual mode and i floor the gas, its almost like there is a little button under the pedal when the gas is pinned all the way to the floor that you have to push a tad bit more, it drops the gears and gets it

That is the thing here, it will not down shift into a lower gear now when in manual mode. Even if you trigger that button under the pedal.

If you keep your traction control off it will stay in manual Turn it back on and when you stop it will go back

I have a 2018 and in sport mode, if I kick it down, the car drops down to a lower gear. Is that what you are asking or am I missing something

Yes, that is what I am asking. This 2022, will not kick down when you floor it in manual mode.

odd, if you were flooring it when you said the words in video, the rpms werent even going up, so were you just telling us that but not actually flooring it at that moment ?? you have a problem if you were. normally, sport manual mode is designed for you to do what you want, so u have to downshift if want too.

I am flooring it, and the RPM are not going up because I am in 5th gear lugging the engine. Very low RPM very low vehicle speed, will not show a huge gain in RPM.

If you have a tune that could be a problem. The question is do you have a tone?The reason why I asked us because most people that have a tune on their Stnger usually start having these problems right after they install a tune even though the tune wasn't meant for the transmission. Something within the ECU starts to do things right after installing tunes. That's what I heard from at least 4 people that I know there had no issues until they started tuning, The transmissions start to act funny because Because maybe being overpowered to the transmission! I'll just enjoy mine stock if I need something faster I'll buy it lol
