the Rs 50 lakhs price tag of the new facelifted Camry is just too expensive for what your buying . . . no doubt the Camry is a brilliant car hands down, but it ain't worth Rs 50 lakhs plus . . .

Completely agree with you. Price of Camry top end with state taxes in USA is not more than 34 lakhs after forex change rate. Not sure why they have to keep costs in India so high. Toyota could have easily leveraged Make In India and build all parts in India to keep cost low. And in India it will be around 55 lakhs on road

@@Vaim81 the Camry is assembled in India from pre built CKD & SKD kits that attracts a 126% import duty, which is carried over & added to the landed price of the car . . . which is why it's expensive for consumers buying the otherwise brilliant car . . . you certainly don't expect OEMs to absorb the cost of import duty on behalf of the loyal TOYOTA customer . . . in U.S. the TOYOTA Camry was a affordable super-reliable car for the middle class American consumer burdened by mortgages & repaying liquid debts, literally by the hair . . . in the early 1990s the first purpose built TOYOTA Camry 4-Dr Sedan (LHD) was introduced in U.S. thus taking the market it by storm . . . it was a car conceived & designed exclusively for the American consumer . . . prior to 1990 TOYOTA sold rebadged modified Corolla as Camry in U.S. . . the TOYOTA Camry LEi (XV10) 3.0 V6 4-Dr Executive Sedan (LHD) was the first clean sheet design of the Camry specifically for America, Europe & Australia . . .
