*Sometimes I explain things in a different order than I actually sewed things. This is because I try to make sure the progression of my directions is presented in a way that can be easily followed. *Also stay tuned for next week for a super beginner pleated skirt tutorial! There will be no pattern needed. The look will be Euphoria inspired.

Do I need a mannequin to make a croset?
@milo_official_yt3 жыл бұрын
@@lolly5957 no, you can drape it on yourself in a mirror , or do a flat pattern drafting method. btw the more accurate term would be dress form, a mannequin typically refers to the plastic/ fiberglass forms specifically for clothing display

For a corset. Not at all . Just a pattern is enough =)))) make sure pattern matches your waist in and you're good result will be great ♥

Just a thought: for non-sew-ers, it'd be interesting if you included a total time of work put into the project . As someone who has taken up sewing recently, I'd find it interesting to know how much time (roughly) it took to create each project. I think it says a lot about the craft, and how intricate and detail it really is. (I mean, I have sewn from patterns, and even that can take forever!) You mentioned in (I think the cowl neckline one) video that it took you 30 hours to make the pattern. Idk, I just think it'd be intriguing to mention how much time you spend on each particular project/work. Obviously, it would take each one of us a different amount of time to complete the same project, but I still think it would be motivating.
@Rellylee3 жыл бұрын
I feel like it really just depends on how much to you have to offer . If you have 24 hours and you want to dedicate those 24 hours to making something then it’ll take 24 hours or less or more depending on the time you have to offer and if you have to redo it

Your videos are so easy to follow and entertaining that it gave me the inspiration to get better so I could sew now that I'm healthy! Thank you so much for being awesome! Ps: Do you have any tips for stopping organza to fray? Every time I work with it it's just a mess and I have to be extra careful when I sew it so the edges don't get destroyed 😂
@KianaBonollo4 жыл бұрын
I am glad you're healthy now and that my videos are helpful! If I am working with organza in a normal garment, I will always use french seams so the raw edges will not be exposed even on the inside. I think when it comes to organza, it likes to be left alone. Try not to play with it too much or redo seams.

I was thinking that it might be nice to make the waist cincher out of TWO sheer layers, but for the outer "right" side, make the pieces longer and ruche each side - there will be slight color variations where the fabric has those soft folds and an added bit of texture. OR - Make the outer layer from lace with a sheer backing layer of a contrasting color. OR - Use two sheer layers but out of different colors for added visual depth. This seems like such a versatile pattern!

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but I think this might called a Swiss Waist.... Or at least a slightly rounded variation of a one.... "A Swiss waist is a boned, pointed underbust garment worn over skirts and blouses or dresses. Unlike a corset, a swiss waist NEVER fastens with a metal front busk. Swiss waists can have a flat front, with no front opening, or can lace up the front with [eyelets]."

@KianaBonollo4 жыл бұрын
So the tension from the presser foot of your machine can end up pushing the top layers of fabric a bit out of place while the feed dogs can pull the bottom layer a bit out of place. So if you go in the same direction, everything will be pushed/pulled the same way.
