@@Star5aII I was thinking at first it would be video auditions and maybe she wasn't in Japan at that time so it's understandable if she didn't want to fly to Japan just for that, but I suddenly realised back then before covid it's almost definitely a physical audition and she just didn't want to go lol.

Or we get a Kiara who was a former member of a certain idol group (Nogizaka, but she can't say cuz that's doxxing)... and Lui will say "You know I had this oshi who graduated from Nogizaka!" Although, with Lui's taste I doubt she'll actually have Kiara as her oshi. Edit: After further research of Lui's oshi(s), there's a possibility that Kiara could actually catch Lui's support.

Should be mentioned that the big ass groups have several rounds of auditions, not just apply and ace the interview and you're in. There's been a couple overseas applicants for AKB that I know off that made it through a few rounds and Nogizaka is probably similar, in the end none have ever made it into the groups. (at least not non-japanese girls) Outside one girl from Taiwan in AKB and that was intentional to promote the planned sister group there. And knowing her only as Kiara it's kinda hard to see her fitting in with Nogizaka, especially during the early years. Too seiso for Kiara. xD

@deamon Haachama no doubt is a step above in listening. She acts crazy most of the time and it distracts from her actual fluency. And Korone showed a level of understanding in a video with Kiara that rivals Lui and surpasses Subaru.

ooohhhj Lui-nee's oshi is Mai Shiraishi,. Very cultured Lui-nee! Nogizaka46 is really famous, some people compare them to AKB48 (have the same producer), they always compete for the no.1 spot thus the rivalry. tbh I miss the golden era of japanese girl groups, they were really diverse, have their own style, release good songs & very chaotic.

aw man I remember back in college 2012-2014 where my late best friend and I religiously supporting 48 group since JKT48 is big in ID and all. I was oshi-ing Yamamoto Sayaka back then, she's just unstoppable and Mayuyu was the face of every media at that time. Every year we would watch Janken Taikai and Senbatsu Events. Man, good times...

I think Kiara stood a reasonably good chance of getting into Nogizaka had she went to the interview. Setting aside how good she is at singing and dancing, having a foreigner in the group is not a marketing opportunity the management would easily let go. But we probably wouldn’t get the awaome birb we have today if that happened so good decision Tenchou.

I don't know any full-blooded foreigners in any akb groups or sakamichi series. Was she already fluent in Japanese 12 years ago? And besides, I don't think the management was particularly looking for talented individuals when you have someone like Matsumura Sayuri in the group lol

From watching the stream I think Lui's brain was struggling hard to both play the extremely frantic game and speak in a foreign language. She was much quieter than she usually is in general tbh this was not a great choice in game.

Man... ngl, I used to be really into idol culture although it cooled off now. From Momusu with Sayumin, I was hard into AKB48 with Takamina, Sayaka, Macchan as my oshi, I even went to some lives... I also followed Nogizaka for a while as well. I'm not gonna say anything bad about Idols and not gonna knock the hard work and effort those idols put in day in day out. That said, idol business and idol culture is beyond toxic and slimy, in a way I'm glad Kiara didn't ended up in Nogizaka. For now I'm just navigating in Hololive with blissful ignorance that the talents were taken care well by the company, since Yagoo is best girl after all, he can't be a shady guy, right? Tho honestly, what happened to Chris shook me. I hope the same is true for all corporate vtubers.

The amount of delusion on these comments is insane. Having your initial photo + bio submission ok’ed is miles away from actually overcoming the other 13k applicants and making to the group. Nothing against Kiara but Sony and AkiP’s handpicked girls with the goal of creating an “elegant beautiful Japanese idol group” to rival the girl next door image of AKB, I highly doubt a white streamer would ever make to the final rounds.

With all vTubers you're not supposed to talk about any private information regarding the person behind it unless they officially disclose it themselves. No one in Hololive has done that. In the virtual streamer community there are many who choose to stream with virtual avatars because they want to maintain privacy. Even if Kiara does not care about hiding her other identities as much as others in Hololive, you're still encouraging a culture of doxxing and online harassment which harms everyone.
