The Mirror scene in Mughal-e-Azam was probably shot on Tilt shift cine lenses if I am not wrong. And Sharmila Tagore was busy shooting with Sir Satyajit Ray in his film Aranyer Din Ratri(The days and nights in forest) while she was in the middle of working for Aradhana. Shakti Shamanta was not pleased with it at all.

Itna detail me jaan ke bht mast laga. Soch rhe hain hm bhi kal sunday ka din isi ko dekh k bitaye. Khair starting me jo brightness ka baat kiye ,aap ek kaam kr sakte hain. Apne background me ek light source rakh lijiye koi alag colour ka other than white . And try to focus that light towards the wall away from you behind ur back . Ya fir ajkal ek light aata hai jo upar ceiling ki taraf focused rhta hai. Vo bhi acha lagega. Vo aesthetic ko badha dega .

Song in Aradhana, Didn't ever notice that... now when observed, i can say such a brilliant work !! despite of having camera restrictions (back then camera stabilization was not there, how smartly they took shots.. jeep is too slow when they take close ups, all big movements happen in master shots, vandana's shots are all framed tightly.) In conclusion i feel that its not about having highly sophisticated technology and doing things but doing maximum with whatever sources you have... must say a Brilliant work ! Nice to know this observation :)
