Being a DC fan Im so glad that you recognized the snyder cut and made a video on it, especially this time. But I need to say that, I think you misinterpreted Zack's vision on Superman... yeah its may not be comic accurate but its very much realistic to todays world. MoS is Supz' origin story which shows how he became The Superman from an Alein among human in disguise... and BvS shows his Internal struggles who entrapped between The God like image for some, on the other hand ,Threat to the world image for others... He is fighting with his internal issues and world politics simultaneously...He's pretty confused with himself ...which is quite realistic, as I understand ! I believe Supz character arc is not complete so far in DCEU. Future movies may reveal the Charming Superman who is free from all internal issues , whom we know from comics , Reeves' movie and animated series. Thats why Zack once a posted a tweet saying " Supz is yet to rise" . And about Joss Whedon , i totally agree with you brother... you are so right, he a poor fellow who jz trapped in WB's ugly politics. I have been saying the same things about Joss for 3 yrs in every comment sections in youtube videos who abuse Joss . But i deny the fact that i don't think he could make a better JL than the coming one, if he were from the beginning. Nope. Because its visible in JW's JL that he Marvelised the DC film and its characters. For example, JW gave Batman a blend of Ironman's character. Yeah, they are Billionare, playboy, techie, philanthropist of their respect universes but they are not same , their backstories are not same and so their character. So Batman can't crack cocky jokes as Ironman does. Its indigestable ! And so with other DC characters too. They Gods among human unlike Marvel's who are humans turns superhumans. So they have their own aura.

I understand what you are saying. I can see what Snyder was trying to do. In the movie 'Man of Steel' its shown that he is unsure about which father should he follow. His father Jor-El who wants him to be an inspiration for the world. Or his father Jonathan who is unsure about how the world would react to him. I feel like the problem is that its not conveyed very clearly on screen. Zack is excellent in making things look good. But his characters feel kind of stiff or lifeless. Superman in particular felt like that in the sequel. Some people point to MCU. But i think you don't need constant jokes like MCU films. Look at Nolan. His characters felt real and understandable. But for Snyder i have to read comments like yourself to get a clearer picture. I think there is failure at least on some level. I don't know what. Personally, i feel for characters like Superman a lighter and comedic tone works best. Thor wasn't working so well till Ragnarok. Of course, you have the older Superman films, which were huge hits when they came out. Before they went too silly. When a person can fly and fool people by wearing glasses and acting like a nerd, there is clearly a bit of comedy somewhere. Instead of making him 'realistic', making him larger then life detracts from the things which don't add up that well. Like the fact that it makes no sense for an all powerful being to work in a job like us. What is he getting out of it? Maybe a perverse sense of fun, where he's clearly the best and is smiling and enjoying behind your very back. I think there is a happy medium somewhere. Between the lighter Reeve films and the ultra serious Snyder's. Till that is done, Superman would be in a difficult place. Which is sad, as Superman is my favorite. Its surprising that world's premier superhero isn't in a place where he could be. Right when the ones who followed his suit, are shining brightly. Maybe this Snyder cut will help a bit.

Even if you have read Alex Ross's stories, they are pretty grounded but works as well. There is a reason Nolan refused the project. I can understand Snyder was setting up a character arc but WB destroyed it. SO you are right. I hope Snyder cut gets us closer to where we can get at this moment. Thank you guys for discussing. He is sad, he is dark because IT'S SHOWING US how that person became the hero we know from the animation, comics or the TV Series for that matter. Actually, he tried to depict 2009's Superman Earth One. Earth One Superman is the one who's so depressed. Byrne's Superman was the basis of the Superman cartoons of 90s which we have watched. Actually, the MCU spiderman is the first accurate spiderman in live action. Tobey Maguire was around 25 years old when he took the role. Andrew Garfield was 30. Both of them were portraying a high school character. Tom Holland was just 19 when he took the role. The most closest to Peter Parker's character ever. Plus he actually behaves like a high schooler.

How people wud react to an alien (for ex - Superman) in this world...they will criticise it and call him something bad or wud file against it just like in BvS ...that its a freaking alien in our world... Today's generation is just experiments they wanna hide something important from this world and experiment it. Best example for this is Area 51... U know the stuff... What i believe is back in the days if superman was in the real world they wudnt do such kind of bad things like today's generation would just like in chris reeves superman... Great & awesome content. You're quite right about the comical representation of superheros but Zack Snyder vision is very mature and he wants to blend the movies in a cohesive emotional storytelling. 3:27 It's more than just "that Superman also has a mother". Killing Superman would make him the very thing he set out to prevent. The name, triggered a flashback of the murder of his parents in front of his eyes. With the Kryptonite spear in his hand at that point, he had become the same killer he set out to fight. [He was indirectly killing Martha (if Supes didnt stop the Lex's goons) by killing Clark.] The realization made him snap out of the rage, and come to his senses. "Martha wont die tonight" This was the whole reason we were shown the death of the Wayne's one more time. This movie receives a lot of unnecessary hate, because people simply don't expect layers in a superhero movie. Its usually WHAM, BAM and POW!

yeah he came to know that superman also a human who has a mother, but the important point is he realized that why he became batman, he remembers his true motivation. He remembers his reason for becoming the batman, he forgets this because for the last 20 years in gotham he went through a lot, he strongly stood with his code ( no killing ), but after the death of jason todd (Robin), he was slowly going rogue. When he heard the name Martha, it was like antivirus for his ruined pc, the Name MARTHA made him remember that why he is Batman, the incident that happened with him on that night he swore to himself that no other family in gotham will suffer this again. But BvS he was doing the opposite he was taking the life of a son who has a mother, he was doing the same thing that happened to him as a child. By the name martha his soul got cleansed. There are dumb people who still criticizes the Martha scene (90% marvel lover/dc haters). but i agree there was a big mistake after martha scene. But the Martha scene was legendary.

In the end we got to know that WB had never watched the Snyder Cut until 2019. In the end we got to know that Joss not only manhandled the film bcuz of WB but also did all that career threatening stuff to Gal Gadot. And along with Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, and Emirich took some racial decisions when it came to Ray Fisher. In the end we got to know that even after being the Snyder Cut, ZSJL was still compromised. It had some elements removed most notably the Green Lantern scene. Great video, good to see a fellow Assamese covering this topic.

As a guy who has read a lot of comics, Man of steel was different but i liked the approach snyder took. Now as i think i prefer man of steel over the 80s superman, cause i always imagined a superhero who isnt perfect. And i remeber there was a comic which had such superman too which i earlier disliked due to being so different By the way i never watched the theatrical cut of BvS, i directly watched the extended cut as i missed out due to boards
