Wonderful! A very important and much advertised part of Jewish history during the 1960's, my teen and young adult years. The book and movie "Exodus" were extremely popular cultural news that impacted our American life. I passionately remember the song's intro, "This land is mine, God gave this land to me", actually making me cry right now!

Thanks Sergio & Rhoda. I wonder if there have been any Christian types of Kibbutz??? There are Christian celibate communities, but they are exclusive to gender. But, as I think of this, I realize the Jews have their long tradition of living close to each other. Judaism is over 4 thousand years and We Christians have so much to learn of HIS will. Having said all that, todays second reading for Mass is from Romans 5:12-15 "The gift considerably outweighed the fall." I know that the Jews suffered, but The Almighty certainly remembers HIS promise. 👍🏻💓🙏🏻😊☦✡✝🌼

I spent a few months on Shaar Hagolan Kibuttz in 1982 and I loved it, I was an Atheist then but when I went back a few years later I was a born again believer. I always had a heart for the Jewish people since I was twelve and pray for the Jewish people and Nation as well as giving the financial aid that my wife and I can for the last twenty years. GOD BLESS ALL.

Jesus healed on the Sabbath (Luke 14 and Mark 3). Can't take paper towels on the sabbath? Thats a little extreme I think. I know scripture says to remember the sabbath and keep it Holy but I don't know anywhere in scripture that says thou shall not rip a paper towel. I don't think we have to repent for such act. There's been a new covenant with Christ. Ill just follow that.

When I was a young woman, I dreamed of living a certain time in Kibbutz because it was in Israel...I wanted to live the experience of a communal life because all my friends where Jewish even if I was a Catholic. I would go to Shull on Sabbath because one of my friend was the daughter of the Rabbi. I heard the most beautiful men choir ever. I would wear a Star of David. I just loved the Jewish religion, the traditions, the food, the feelings then of the family’s of my friends that would talk of the Home Land Israel all the time...A friend of mine went and stay there, married. Last time I heard from Her, she was living in Ashqelon. That was many years ago....Ahhhhh! Kibbutz living!!!! Thanks for that wonderful video....Blessings!!!

A kibbutz (Hebrew: קִבּוּץ / קיבוץ, lit. "gathering, clustering"; plural: kibbutzim קִבּוּצִים / קיבוצים) is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. The first kibbutz, established in 1909, was Degania.
