Let's build the schematic for the Cloudlifter CL-1 microphone activator using the free open source software: KiCad. Whether or not you are interested in microphone preamps, this video serves as a great introduction to anyone looking to get started with schematic design using KiCad.

Sorry, I deleted my other comment as I made a mistake. I thought you connected power to the input (Mic) side and it confused me when I was testing the schematic in TINA-TI. I realise now that the power obviously comes into pins 2 and 3 of the "output" which are connected to the mic preamp. Both are provided with 48V via two separate 6.81k resistors. I added those into my simulation and it works now. One hurdle down; many more to go! I'm going to try this circuit soon using some other JFETs as LSK389s are so difficult to come by. Might be able to make a semi-decent one with cheaper (but matched) JFETs! Thanks again for your videos. Really appreciate the time and effort you put into making them.

No worries. It’s weird that the non-C variants of the LSK389 are available from several places (mouser being one), but the C variant is harder to find. The LSK389C chips that I used were from store.nacsemi.com/products/detail?part=LSK389C-SOIC&stock=LIS000000001343 (looks like they are still available)
