When you were demonstrating at the end of the video different ways you could do this and the x was only on the gimmick under the flap and you did the change and the x just vanished. That in itself is a nice effect right there. You could do a lot with this gimmick. You could do a card reveal. Write the wrong prediction (example)- jack of diamonds-on the top of the deck. Show the wrong prediction, do the change and the cards switch and the correct card (lets say 4 of spades) which was hidden under the flap- is now seen.

nice gimmick build i first saw this on gray magic tv :) tip cut the two sides (white borders) on the top card on the gimmick it will stop it going over the side :)

Could the same elastic thread principle be used to create a top of the box peak window cover, that you can slide down with your thumb to reveal the window and will snap back into place?

I always use my wife to hold the first knot down. I also thread the needle and then knot it at the ends so it’s a double threaded gimmick. Makes it stronger and is still almost invisible. Really cool effect mr gaffer.
