I like the choice to change it to “feels like I’m missing something.” It fits more naturally into the song than the line “feels like I’m forgetting something” while obscuring its real meaning.

'Feels like I'm forgetting something' means that despite Denji's self-indulgence, not only is he not feeling emotionally complete, but he's literally forgetting something. The Control Devil's influence is making several people in the story conveniently forget things, which is heavily alluded to in the OP, and Denji himself is suppressing a bad memory. The only issue is that 'feels like I'm forgetting something' smacks of foreshadowing, even to someone unspoiled who doesn't know to look for it. 'Feels like I'm missing something' does all the same things, but it's much more subtle, and easier to take at face value.

I've been listening to this cover over and over for the past couple of days, and I have to say It Is by far my favorite cover I love your vocals. But what really gets me is the lyrics! Listening to kick back in Japanese has me just vibing blindly. But it hits so differently when I understand the lyrics, and the bridge literally had me tear up the first time I heard it. I actually spent a lot of time tweaking the bass (probably way more than I should have lol) It's the same strings I've always used - .105 and .130 for the low G and C respectively - but I also split the bass track into two layers. One for the mids and treble, the other one for subs and rumble :)
