I make House , Techno & Psytrance ranging from 120-190 BPM. Alright ha...that's my good day sir. Yeah I've cut every drum short as they were all too long.(does sound terrible and your right losses all low end. more like hitting a cardboard box) that's why I started trying to make them. I'm doin better with yours now. I was checking out the high passes on mid basses and I knew they so called "leaked" but my God. I must of let a sh!t ton go by in the past as I only did it about twice. Last night I was trying what you said about multi high passes. Must of done it about 16 times and although it got it right down to minus 100 db it was still there.(used ozone eq cause izotope neutron eq did nothing). Cheers take it easy. 😉

Any good tips on ways to train our ears so that we can clearly hear these types of things? (Assuming we're using good headphones/speakers) I think I still struggle tell the difference between the A/B when ducking for the kick. Or at least I'd like to get better at it!

It’s a good idea and I’ll try to think of some tips , but realistically hours and hours of skin in the game is the best way , keep at it ! 📈
