i tried to make a hardstyle kick, after 9 hours i realized it was completely bad so i started over. HHz speaks the truth, ears will fool you, i thought my kick was awesome, but after taking a step back and hearing references, i realized i fooled myself. i become very depressed shortly after that and took me a week before i could even look at Ableton again.

This is a part of an interview with him: First and foremost, I launch FL with the beginning of each little idea I have in my head, whether it’s a fast melody, or a drum groove to start out with. I Use FL Studio for that because I have found that the piano roll is by far the FASTEST way to “plot” my melodies and rhythms down because although I have an ear for it, I couldn’t “play” a melody to save my life.

wow...it looks really cool...it's amazing the amount of editing that goes on from the original drum machine haha...my favourite sound is the combo of microtonic and with a bit of eq before chucking on a Filterbank plugin...mate it sounds solid to me...really stompy...definitely a more raw sound though, inspired by the hardcore kicks of today...

Don't you guys think the sweetest part of making music especially now-a-days is that you can attain tools of a full studio and able to have it in your bedroom?. DAW's are simply life changing and I think Most DAW's have their pros and cons... As a producer/musician, don't just be entitled to one DAW...or one Synth, etc. Music is a world that anyone/everyone can explore, don't let your mind be set on one path that's been set by another, MAKE YOUR OWN!.
@XaneMusic111 жыл бұрын
The Veldt was completely written in FL Studio. AVICII still uses FL, even though he owns a Mac. Any DAW can be used for music. It's not about the software, it's about the producer.

It's absolutely possible to make a good kick without those plugins, but I think drumazon and Logics standard effects is the way to go.. U can make a kick from any synthesizer, and all DAWs have some synthesizers plugin in stock ;)

Does anyone else know any clip distortion VST? It's just essentially cranking up the sound until it peaks and there comes the clipping. I know Ozone 5's Maximizer does the job, but it uses a bit too much CPU.

or get venm since it has all the features of logics clip distortion. the main special thing about logics clip distortion is the simmetry fade which venm emulates.
@Victor2daVazquez11 жыл бұрын
true the symmetry usually isn't the same well on every different vst or au or plugins you get different things but not the same (no shit sherlock) lol but sometimes camel phat is better than logic's clip or trash sometimes its better for kicks than clip and camel audio some distortions are clean some are rowdy some add more presences well you get the point but you don't need clip distortion to make kicks just eq distort eq distort reverb band pass and eq then tweak lol but dont give up and dont forget to distort hard on the begining
@PhadeZMusic10 жыл бұрын
the point about venm and clip dist is just that they have that symmetry fader to change not just the dist's but also the waveforms symmetry which makes them so unique compared to other distortions

FL Studio heavily relies on what hardware you're using; audio interfaces and stuff. FL Studio runs using ASIO, while stuff like Logic and PreSonus use their own integrated audio engine (which is way better than ASIO)

sample editor. Dubble click on the kick. Then ur in the sample editor. There u have to select the tail. Click "Factory" and then "Time And Pitch Machine". Try something like 200CENT or -200CENT. Then click prelisten to hear it. If it's OK, click "Process And Paste". Then u have a pitched kick! But before u gonna pitch, u gotta make a copie of it! Good luck!!!

Can somebody name all of the plugins he used to overdrive the kick? Can't see it :p. Not a logic user myself. I know he is using the clip disto and channel eq tho.
@TheDonkerOfficial10 жыл бұрын
to name ALL of them you have to be in the studio with him and ask him to open the project and write down the plugins in order. There are multiple several ways to make a kick, this is one of them. OFC - hardware plugins are used in the final result -if u make the amount of money HHZ does, you will be able to get them aswell :) Also check Frontliners, Donkey Rollers, and even Toneshifterz tutorials if you want to copy a kick and dont make a kick of your own and learn how to make them by yourself, - as said they all work different but with the same "ground".
@renecrooijmans351410 жыл бұрын
TheDonkerOfficial Thank you!
@HardstyleNLife10 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about donker ? He doesn't use any hardware device to make his kick.. and even if he uses that you don't need it to achieve this kind of kick.. of course making kicks is really really difficult because you need experience and trained ears.. BTW the plugins he used in this video is Sonnox inflator to avoid clipping.. but it's very expensive.. you can use the logic's one bitcrusher as clipper ( it does the same things ).. other plugins used are : Channel eq, sonnox inflator(but you can use bitcrusher), gain, clip distortion
@renecrooijmans351410 жыл бұрын
Thank you!

Well he says in this tut that he processes the kick through a hardware tapedistortion to get character. Ofc u don't need hardware stuff... thats not what i meant. Also: If u dont use Mac i suggest Venm vst, a clip distortion made for Windows.

its a good tutorial, not to be rude or anything, but if you want people to learn your going to have to use a wider arrange of software that most people are actually able to afford.
