IS LAYERING YOUR CLAPS/HATS ETC. A MUST FOR YOU THAT YOU DO ONCE YOU START A PROJECT OR DO YOU ALSO USE LOOPS AND AT SOME POINT YOU MIGHT REALIZE “OH I NEED A PUNCHIER CLAP” AND THEN YOU GO AND LAYER IT? THANKS AND I LOVED THE VIDEO 💙
@itsthewestend Жыл бұрын
@@thanos_k It all depends how i am feeling when i start the project. usually more creative means doing the layering later

its great to see that im almost naturally doing these techniques through experience! ive also spent 7 days deleting like 800 gigs of samples that i never used and really organised my samples which i think will also help with this.

I started using the Voxed MSED plugin instead of Ableton stock mid-side processing. It's way faster and now I improved my workflow time. Westend is one of those producers who makes it easy to look over our knowledge in music production.

This helps me so much with layering drums. Thanks for that. I got fabfilter Saturn 2, but dont got the same presets as you. can I buy them somewhere?
@ryanthomasyee Жыл бұрын
Westend is using the original FabFilter Saturn. You won't be able to see those presets if you are using Saturn 2. My suggestion is to pause the vid and copy the settings you see on the screen. It's a pretty basic patch, thankfully.

is there a particular reason why building drums this way is preferable or better than doing it in drum rack ?
@juancarballo89642 ай бұрын
I’m curious this goes for you westend and all producers would yall start making a track like this ? Or start with your idea first (lmk if this makes sense)

So, for a kick why wouldn’t you just give the mids of a good sample an eq boost and not bother with layering?
@BobbyBundlez Жыл бұрын
boosting on lower frequencies tends to add distortion.
