Kicked out of Bolivia*?!? (S3:E65)

After finding themselves stranded in the Amazon with a destroyed rear wheel bearing, Chad and Rose struggle to make their way back to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Narrowly surviving being mauled by a pack of rabid monkeys,* they continue along Bolivia's Highway 4, back into the Andes.
Along the way, they are nearly deported after Rose starts a brawl in a brothel,** are run off the road and nearly killed,** and indulge in a dip in a piranha-infested lake,* before returning to Cochabamba.

If you have another similar bearing failure and can't get the outer race out. Just run a 1/2inch weld on the race. Immediately throw some cold water over it. The thermal shock will cause the race to crack and then it will come out easily. This is what I did in Kaza, nothern India. The local mechanic had no idea as what to do. So I showed him the process. He was very appreciative. Years of being on the tools eventually has it's rewards.🤣

Great video! It is videos like this that make you my favorite channel KZbin! I love the ingenuity of the mechanic who pulled your bearing. What I loved more was how positive you two were when dealing with this hurdle! I also loved the guy riding with his wife and three kids. I am glad that he was wearing a helmet! 😅 Then, the dodo birds, a dog peeing on the pillow, water slide, and a visit from immigration officers. That is a lot of stuff for one video. But that wasn't the end! Then there was another flat tire, terrible road conditions, beautiful scenery, and truckers trying to kill you. I am exhausted and need to take a nap. Generally speaking, Bolivians tend to be a bit reserved until you get to know them, but they are very nice. Or we have absolutely no idea why immigration decided to pay us a visit in the middle of the night - nothing like that has happened before or since...

CHAd una parte de la gasolina para en tiendas y se lo llevan del país a Perú o Chile, por eso no hay gasolina, además que existe gran parte de los autos son ilegales los que circulan en los pueblos, la mayoría son ilegales(no cuentan con placa) ;entonces ellos se compran en bidónes porque sin placa no venden gasolina en los surtidores, entonces gran parte de este daño lo tienen tanto como los surtidores en vender por bidón y algunos hacen negociado con los que son contrabandista de gasolina algunos modifican su tanque de gasolina y cargan más de lo debido,tu puedes comprar gasolina tienes derecho pero tiene un costo de 6Bs máso menos y si o si tienen que venderte es un derecho porque estas transitando vía legal por Bolivia 🇧🇴, así Chad

Yeah, the gas situation in Bolivia can be tricky, and I know it discourages a lot of overlanders from visiting the country. But honestly, it's all part of the adventure and unique charm of Bolivia. I'm sure it could be a giant pain in the butt for those that live there, but I actually enjoyed it!

Wow, quite a moment being questioned by Immigration officers late at night in a random hotel. It reminded me of reading 'Jupiters Travels' when motorcycle traveller Ted Simon was detained on his arrival in Brazil and is arrested on suspicion of being a spy! Luckily you had all your paperwork in order and were free to continue your travels. Phew!

Yeah, it was an odd situation for sure. Chad actually got detained at the Nicaraguan Border in 2018 for the exact same reason. Luckily, after 4 or 5 hours, they let him go!
