Those knee speakers are certainly a chore to get to but definitely worth the upgrade. Especially when adding the 6.5” speaker and pod!

Great video!! From researching online I was under the impression that the knee speakers were a royal PITA, unlike the other speakers!! Looking forward to this upgrade!! I have a 23 Sport 2 door 6MT with the alpine floor sub. It does ok but as a bass player I like my shit bass loud and my trebles crisp and my kids clear. I like to blast my rock and reggae which have lots of bass and if I go over 30 on the volume I can hear some distortion on the sound bar speakers. I have bought it now and am waiting for it to arrive and test it, but after a lot of research, I found that the best, most appropriate and safest solution to try to develop the speaker for your car, whether the alpine system or the regular one, is available at this store and the prices are very wonderful. Looks like good speakers, and although that is a good breakdown video, I've never took the dash apart, that's really not necessary, and the boxes will slide right out with minor manipulation. Also kicker could have made the tabs line up with the original screw holes, taking the chance on screwing tabs and possibly bending basket, as could happen with a new installer, will distort the speaker, and we know what comes next, premature speaker failure.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on you. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to get the factory JL or JT knee boxes out with "minor manipulation ". Anyone who owns one knows that's a pure lie. If you post a video showing it, I'll pay you $100.00.

@@vtxrecruiter 100.00 ??? Seriously I've owned many jeeps, as now I own a 2023 Rubicon 392. And I've always installed my own systems, lifts etc, whatever it is. But if you live anywhere near NY I'd be glad to show you for 100.00 per side 👍👍. Like I said MINOR manipulation is all it takes, and to be sure the passenger side is the easiest. If you actually took the time to look at speaker boxes from underneath, I'm sure even a denier as yourself can see how to do it......Minor manipulation. Seriously not that serious, but hey if you want to take your whole dash apart 🤷🤷have at it. I've been doing these things along time, matter of fact it's all I do. Take a look and let me know if you see a way, Ive given you inside info. Your problem is your looking at videos of people whom mostly do not think outside of the box, which is fine, sometimes though all that's needed is to look at things from a different perspective and BAM 💥 your like, why didn't I think of that. So I'm calling b.s. on your b.s. because you haven't really LOOKED at it .

BTW I work teaching techs how to repair 7 Mil plus $$$ gas turbine engines, I DID look, and you DO have to essentially take the whole dash area apart. There is no way to access 2/3 of that knee box hardware. So post a video and put the link here. I'm sure the entire Jeep Community will thank you!!!!

Can you not pull the front grill on the knee box to remove the speakers? Even if you have to buy a new grill it might be worth it.

@@chogg611 No, the dash trim panel is attached to the grill so would probably be an expensive route. But if that’s your chosen method…..

I have a stock 7" UConnect basic sound system. I've seen others install Inline output converter behind the head unit before connecting any upgraded speakers. Should that be the case here too?

No not at all. You will not need an inline converter to swap to these speakers. With some amps/ subs, you may, but not with just these speakers. Also, a PAC preamp module behind the head unit is needed when installing an amp to a factory head unit but not speakers. These are simply unplug your existing speakers and connect the new Pods and speakers which come completely wired and ready for install.

It's a shame that Jeep made it so difficult to replace the knee speakers. I've done my dashtop and overhead bar speakers but I won't bother with the knee speakers.

It is, however the new 6.5” knee pods are a game changer for the whole system. We highly recommend them for a complete set up with a huge improvement.

If you’re referring to the pods, yes they are required. The stock housing won’t allow for the larger speakers.

Hahaha, the knee speakers can be a bit intimidating at first but they’re easier than it looks. It’s just a lot of screws to keep track of. You can always add them later also!
