How did you get started homesteading?

We literally just made the decision one day, sold our home, bought land and JUMPED head first into goats, pigs & chickens. Probably not the wisest way to go about it but we seem too always do things a little unorthodox.

How do you get them to let you pet them.. my sheep will not let me touch them..we just got them a couple weeks ago…they are very scared of us

We started with treats in our hand but most of our goats were handled a lot when they were kids... sheep can be a bit more skittish if not socialized when lambs.
