I find the best way to get baby carpets to feed on frozen thawed fuzzies is to wait until about 3-4 weeks after their first shed before offering food and 9/10 will take frozen thawed. They hatch with a lot of yolk to susbsist on initially so I find that waiting a few weeks allows them to get hungry and settled.

what's the reason for soaping the frozen fuzzy mice to remove the scent, doesn't the scent help? just curious ...
@af7409 Жыл бұрын
Perhaps they don’t recognise the rodent smell as natural food. Presume they take skinks/other lizards in the wild.
@gsreptiles5606 Жыл бұрын
Joseph, commercially raised rodents are raised on pine shaving. It's not about getting rid of the rodent smell. It's about getting rid of the bedding smell. Hope this helps!

Do the 75% diamonds need cooler temps like the pure diamonds? I love carpet Pythons and have a Carmel jungle jag but it gets hot here in summer and it’s hard to keep my snake room cool so I try to keep stuff that’s ok with warmer temps. All my other snakes love 80 plus ambient temps.

How can a "hand soap" contain no chemicals? I defer to your expertise, but why is that step really necessary? No need to answer the above question - I read your answer to Joseph below: the soap washing is to eliminate the smell of wood shavings.
@Woll11084 ай бұрын
It’s so bad to cross breed python species. Diamond and jaguars are different species. They wouldn’t breed in the wild, and there are so many breeders trying to keep bloodlines pure.
