The last update confirmed there are multiple realities in which multiple Eriks exist. I believe the parrot-costume Erik is the one behind all of these delays, either having a direct hand in things or subtly pulling strings behind the scenes to prevent the movie's creation. I don't know why or what his motive is, but Parrot Erik is absolutely the main villain of EDWaGaH.
