cudi just gets it. i wouldn't say he's underrated because everyone knows him now but i'd say he's misunderstood in a lot of ways

@BelieveInUrself9310 жыл бұрын
***** I thought about a way to answer this 'cause it's a fair question. And i'm not tryna speak on behalf of cudi fans everywhere, this is just my interpretation. Personally, as someone who suffers from depression and has often felt misunderstood their whole life, and would sometimes get high to help alleviate that stress of feeling like they never fit in, cudi sings and raps and addresses issues like depression and suicidal thoughts in a way I can relate to.. I don't see a lot of other hip hop artists doing that. He doesn't promote or sell the idea, he takes control of it by making music that people who suffer from these things can relate to, and lets them know they're not alone. He gives us something to vibe to. So perhaps it's not that he's misunderstood, but he speaks for those of us who are.

This is Cudi's greatest track. It brings me to tears every time, no shame in admitting it. It's like he's felt the pain I have, the loneliness, the hopelessness... But he inspires to rise above the sorrow and spread love and positivity.

Thank you for making REAL music for the people who go through REAL shit Scott. You will always be appreciated

Man this song hit me hard when I was in highschool. I never like to show myself vulnerable but, I had no friends growing up. No lunch table took me sophmore year and I used to go to the library and hide my lunch in my backpack. Did not eat very often during that year. Then my mother found I had hid it and she could not understand why I was doing that. Never made sense to her and even now that I am older it still makes no sense. I used to look out the window of my bus and just imagine how shit my future was going to be. Fast forward to senior year and I skipped graduation just to send the biggest middle finger to my class. I remember my thoughts and what I was thinking about while on the bus. Imagining how shit life would be. I had no weed or drugs to help me deal with it because, ironically enough I never felt like I would lower myself that low to run away from problems. I literally engulfed myself in depression. I developed a mental problem where I felt everything was happening because, I was soing something wrong. I was drowning in depression, loneliness, doubts, anger, and the worst of all. Hopelessness. I do not know how I did it but I got out of the darkness and came out a new person. Fast forward years now. I forgave all the old kids from my school and I am doing better emotionally, financially, and mentally than them. Now I have the chance to help them and I have. I have my own business and bought my dream car. I have my dream job. I have great people around me. My family life is doing way better. For those of you out there it gets better. Remember there are people going through way worse and it is up to you to make sure even if they fail you carry the torch until the end as I did. I failed many times. I cried many times. I mentally blacked out many times. However, I kept holding the torch. Do not let it go. Keep moving up. You can not go forwards or backwards but up. Lift yourself out of the darkness. Come out a new person. You will be crushed and grinded to almost dust. However, brush yourself off. For a diamond has been created.

This song is deep. Kid Cudi sampled a song from the movie ‘Antwone Fisher’. Like Kid Cudi, Antwone Fisher grew up in Cleveland and endured tremendous struggle much like Cudi, and the movie details a man’s search for self and the path forward. The conversation heard in the sample is one had between Antwone Fisher and the psychiatrist in the movie, played by Denzel Washington. The movie is a must watch and the song definitely hits harder if you’ve seen the movie.

about 3 years ago I was heartbroken over a girl I had dated for a while, we had split up and I never thought I would get over her. I started talking to this one girl just as friend thinking none of it, just to pass time. Well I found this song at around same time we started talking, we ended up talking more and more, then doing all the things couples do, falling in love and everything. All this time with her I had completely forgot about my ex, and I was truly happy and content with life. I I had found someone for life, someone who actually cared. Atleast I thought, last week she just ended everything . I love this song, but can't help thinking about the time spent w her. It sucks, and now I just gotta wait for god to stop the rain.
