“I’m just what you made God” that part hits me deeply every time I listen to this. As an individual who has/is struggling with depression and self love it can be really easy to just say “this is who we are” when living our lives negatively or making poor decisions without any intentions of getting better. Might’ve taken it out of context but definitely how I interpreted this line, hope you all are hanging in there♥️

i am unable to describe the feeling that this song gives me. i feel so suffocated by my everyday tasks and responsibilities and i crave nothing but a chance to get away from all of it. to just be at peace for a few minutes. to just feel nothing. i'm not a perfect person. i've made my fair share of mistakes, and i've struggled forming any sort of positive relationship with god or even the mere idea of him. i've been raised with the idea of his existence, and hearing "i'm just what you made god" makes me feel so incredibly saddened. growing up, i internally fought with myself, constantly wondering why i was the way i was, and cursing god for not making me better. now 'm older, and while others may not be happy with all my decisions or actions, i brush it off because "it's just the way i was made". hearing this lyric and knowing that there's other people who struggle with their sense of worth? it hurts. i've experienced an overwhelming desire to leave this life behind more times than i probably should have. i'd never wish that on anyone, and seeing kid cudi sing about something that i and others can relate to so deeply, feels good. it makes me feel less,,,,sad? so that's just it, this song makes me feel so many ranges of emotion at once that i couldn't possibly pick one to describe it. nonetheless, i adore it, and i know it'll remain a favorite for a long time.

I’d wish I could hear this for the first time again - but for me, every time kinda feels like the first time bc this song never gets old. Its perfect from start to finish. I wouldn’t alter a single frequency for fear of ruining something too good. As a new rapper and producer myself, seeing great songs like this get created by veterans makes me excited for what the future has to offer for my music. I’m only going to get better. And who knows - maybe one day I’ll make something as timeless as this one : )

I was 18 yo when this song came out. I grew up with adolescent rage flowing throughout my veins. Thanks Cudi for helping me realize that I’m human. I’m closer to faith in a higher power through music. I could not stand religion growing up. I could not stand the path that was laid before us. But things are different now. I’m understanding that this is the way things go for humanity. I’ve lived through many environments and in none of them have I felt as comfortable as I do now. The only thing that has changed was my mentality. Everything else has remained the same, ie we’re still human, nothing more and nothing less. Make peace with life even if you’re aware of how unfair life is to you. God bless you all.

Man, I used to have this best friend named Vince. We were next door neighbors. We grew up together since we were toddlers. We did everything together. He was all I got and I was all he had. Well about a year ago, he left to go the Marines. I never see him anymore. We don't talk anymore. And it crushes me. He was all I had. This song reminds me of him and I get close to cracking tears every time it plays. "I wanna get higher, who gon' hold me down now.." He used to be there for me all the time. But we always knew we would go separate ways, it was just a matter of time. I miss you, Vince.

I remember when I first learned what anxiety was. I was having panic attacks almost everyday out of nowhere and I thought something was seriously wrong. I grew up in environment where no one talked about mental health, no one told me what anxiety really was. It took me having to go to the hospital during a panic attack because I thought I was dying that I finally had a nice nurse talk to me and explain what anxiety was. Kid cudi was a big part of my recovery. In moments when I thought it was impossible to be ok again, Cudi reminded me that I wasn’t alone. I often think about the kids that are uneducated on mental health and think they’re dying just like I thought I was. Horrible feeling. When life gets hard I come back to this song and remember everything I went through and how far I’ve come. Forever greatful for Cudi.
