Yeah on Netflix it was called a romantic comedy and I didn’t feel that way at all, it wasn’t funny enough to be a comedy. That’s not to say it tried and failed, no, I don’t think the film is trying to make you laugh out loud. There are scenes that are funnier than others, sure, but I don’t think the intention of the film is “HAHA”

And fuck up a rat And have the absence to explain how you didn't mean to hurt them instead of explaining that you went there to address the inappropriate photo/message. Again it's possible but you'd have to be the unluckily person on earth for that many events to take place even relative to that sequence

Tbh I like the movie because the story really isn't anything to write home about-- it's just two cool people existing together, going about their lives, and the beauty in that. Really good portrayal of city life too, I grew up in NY. It's the kind of film you and your friends put on after ordering two huge pizzas, getting a little bit drunk or high. Maybe someone's got a song playing from their phone. And you're all just talking and vibing out. This movie didn't need to exist, but like... I'm glad it does. Definitely one of my favorites.

I completley disagree in the movie part. The animation even tho it has not many phonograms it's still very good with many interesting shots, the change of animation is also a huge plus. The story isn't trying to be a huge deep dive into a character but with the relation of the main characters and their conversations with their friends they learn how to deal with actually falling in love for the first time. They also expres this thought their respective artwork since they used them to comunicate to each other, specially in the last bit of the film. This also makes us know how passionate these people are in their own individual passions insead of their personality and lifes reliying only in the love interest which many netflix romantic movies do. I do agree that the sound production was pretty cheap but it honestly didn't distracted me from the rest of the elements. There's many more point i like about this movie but with this I think I expressed my opinion properly, let me knkw what y'all think.

It’s not just human culture that the movie is capturing, is specifically black culture. And yes.. black people do talk like that which is why the dialogue is they way it is. Good movie

How was it great? The visuals were stunning ofc but isn’t a massive part of making a movie the story?? Two ppl are into each other, they get together, there’s a slight misunderstanding which pushes them apart, they get over it and get back together. What’s interesting about that? I wish they’d gone more into the Mr Rager character as well. At the start they seemed to be suggesting he was a part of Jabari but then didn’t rlly flesh that idea out.

The aesthetics are great, the music is great. The world building is great. Plot, character and story is a toss up. I wanted to see those moments between Jibaro and his girl, to understand why they love eachother. To get a picture about who they are personally. I do understand though, it's a simple story but you need to develop upon your characters. An aesthetic film that cares more about it's style then it's essence. 6/10 Hope the second one fills up the holes and delves into the good shit

I can't blame Kid Cudi tho, this is his first big movie and that has pressure to it.. The movie would've been a 10, if they developed the characters greatly.

I’ve only watched the movie and didn’t even know about Cudi until looking into Entergalactic’s cast. Sorry but I’m just really into Nerdcore. I will say that point about the sound production wasn’t anything I really noticed but you make a good point. I genuinely like/love the story but also feel they pack in a lot of ideas and plot points for the film. And maybe it’s from hearing this called a “special” rather than a film, I feel this might work better as a series and that this movie is like a pilot or something.

My main problems with the movie is the fact the MC tells his ex that he can't be with anyone right now yet unironically has a love at first sight moment with the other woman. If you just don't like your partner anymore don't have s3x with them and tell them that you can't be with anyone else at the moment. That's ridiculous and completely unfair to the ex! They didn't even provide reasons for why they broke up, it would've been interesting as heck if she held him down from his goals but the new chick inspired him to be better. The way that the MC fails to explain to female Cudi that she wasn't with his ex s3xually is so bizarre. All he had to say was that he was there taking care of a rat problem. Other than that the movie was mostly good to me. If only the MC wasn't so stupid and cowardly then it would've been great.

Nice video thou, but not every movie should have The Hero's Journey story telling, and as for animation new development is achieved very well, lastly for sound design yes some couple of effects were missing. Ill give this movie 7/10.

thats hilarious, i felt like the album bogged down the flow of the movie and i found myself clocking out of the song sequences. maybe cudi’s not my favorite artist in general but i was expecting much shorter clips

Yeah I’m a huge cudi fan but this album and movie really didn’t do anything for me tbh. The album played it way to safe for me and the movie looked cool visually in stills. I don’t think it needed to have that animation style due to the lack of action. The story and dialogue was pretty generic to me and I didn’t really feel it.

I agree I didn’t like this movie. The visuals were stunning but the story wasn’t engaging or interesting. I was struggling to find any deeper meaning or message to it. I didn’t feel engaged with the characters or feel their emotions really nor was I particularly rooting for their relationship ship I just felt neutral.
