3:06 its because smart people have higher IQ, but lower EQ (emotional intelligence). If you have high EQ, then you can feel what others feel easier and more. EQ also has to do with social interactiveness, so thats why smareter people tend to be worse social interactive or behave autistic. Hope this helped!

3:10 to me it really just comes down to overthinking. Like I'm a pretty damn smart guy but I've never had a strong social capability. When I'm around other human beings I just simply think too hard about a number or circumstances that could happen and it makes me focus too hard on my own thoughts, instead of the outside world. And the more I've grown with this kind of personality, the more it just makes sense to me to focus on myself and not much on others. So ngl being socially inept but also being a smart logical guy is a good thing to me.

The reason smarter people tend to be more awkward is because they grow up with a more aware mindset and while other kids think about the world with a 1D mindset (eg: “play football”, “like to draw”) smarter kids think about their life in a more complex way than the average, overseeing simple characteristics. This tends to leave them without a sport or club as a kid which doesn’t help as they get older in social situations. Smart kids also tend to overthink social gatherings, planning out what they should say and then ending up not saying anything after they lose their chance.

3:45 - Autism definitely can be a common thing associated with smart kids being socially awkward but its not the only thing. children that grow up being smarter than their peers, tends to end up with them believing that the only value they have as a person is their wits. because they grew up very very smart in early elementary they are used to teachers and adults praising them for effortlessly completing tasks given to them that posed more of a challenge to other kids their age. Because of that, as the child grows up, when they actually encounter obstacles or things they don't fully understand they either give up immediately or blow it off because they are not used to having to learn or get better at something. but anyways, more on the social aspect, smart children can often be very self absorbed and believe that the reason they cannot connect to people socially is because other people are too dumb compared to them. this makes the child feel extremely lonely which leads to them trying to fix their loneliness by socializing. But, tying in with what I said before about smart children having trouble with things that aren't naturally easy, they are very afraid of the possible failure in social situations. This leads the child to believe that they need to use their wits (the only valuable trait they think they have) in order to succeed in social situations. so in conclusion to my very strange KZbin comment essay, The reason very smart children tend to be socially awkward is because while one person sees the social interaction as a normal and friendly way to get to know somebody, the other person sees the interaction like some sort of chess game where they need to predict, plan, and strategize in order to have a "successful" interaction which leads to the interaction to feel extremely forced and awkward.
