It's actually going back to the roots of theater. In commedia dell'arte, for example, each actor was supposed to know how to cleverly come back at hecklers. Applying it to stand up makes so much more sense than immediately shutting them down.

As a medicine student myself. The sample collected for diagnosis of rabies is saliva/corneal smear/skin scraping from face and neck. But the confirmation comes only after examining brain tissue, but don't worry, it's done in postmortem cases. And yes, every animal including human is examined the same way😊
@catstac254225 күн бұрын
Except this particular squirrel, rescued as a kid, was 7 years old when seized by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and euthanized soon after for rabies testing. You can safely assume that Peanut did not have rabies and was "quarantined" enough time ro be certain of it. This case was pure cruelty and a show of how poorly-direced tax payer money is.

You might want to learn the actual story about Peanut the Squirrel and how the NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation was investigating he owners illegal animal sanctuary concerned about the animals, and a raccoon - more prone to rabies-and the squirrel were living in the home and the owner and his wife would bring neighbors’ children into the house to babysit them. The owner had received and ignored requests to register the squirrel for 9 straight months. Additionally the squirrel was a prop for the guy’s Only Fans account and the pet videos were bait to pull people into becoming Only Fans subscribers. Your audience was repeating misinformation from the NY Post and NYS Environmental Protection scientists faced bomb threats and for weeks had to work remotely. This wasn’t just a story about a sweet guy adopting a squirrel. And, the animal sanctuary closed to all visitors and not following animal protection guidelines is also speculated to be a monetary scam. Concerned neighbors had reported it for months.
@erinmac4750Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, it does sound like we didn't get the whole story. I had heard something about him having an Only Fans, but not about other animals or having an illegal sanctuary. Still it was sad that things went down that way for Peanut. I hope the other animals were found safe arrangements. We definitely need something better for testing rabies. Killing asymptomatic animals is so needless....I had a bat that flew into my house that I took to the local agency thinking it would get rehomed. No, they killed to test for rabies. Next time, bat gets to hang out....

Never seen a set quite like this😂 I gotta go read the protocols. You know you get allergic/afraid of water with that disease iirc
@coleengoodell7523Ай бұрын
Yep, and once they get the fear of water, as they can't swollow, it's too late to do anything, they are going to die. The two that survived, at least one of them was put into a coma to save her life. She's not the same, but she survived. Even with this protocol in place people are still dying after they start showing symptoms. There is an after bite treatment from a rabid animal that you can get that will save your life, but you have to start getting the injections pretty much same day that you were bitten and it's a series of shots, very painful, sometimes given directly also where the person has been bitten. Peanut bit someone after he was taken from his home. So that the person he bit didn't have to get a series of injections, they tested Peanut in the way that they did and as quickly as they did.

The squirrel bit the NYS DEC scientist through two layers of protective gloves. The issue with the squirrel was it’s living in the house with a raccoon on raccoons are very prone to rabies. Also DEC didn’t choose to kill the squirrel because it was the cheaper option. There’s been a huge amount of MSM misinformation about this

The guy had this squirrel for a long time, so there's no reason to suspect rabies, and rabies in squirrels is rare anyway. Rabies overall in NYS is very rare and an animal kept for a year would already have died from it. So there was NO medical reason for this.

Peanut bit someone after he was taken from his owners, his family and his home. So in order to prevent the person whom he bit from having to undergo the rabies vacination protocol, which is very unpleasant, for once a human being starts showing symptoms it's too late to save them from death, less the two who have survived it. So they had to test Peanut, not wait, to rule out the need for the person whom he bit from having to endure the injections required to kill the infection that could be in their body, racing to their brain. He should have never been taken from his home and any pet who might carry rabies should always have a yearly vaccination. Not sure if Peanut was up to date on his. That's another question.
@joannekeane2126Ай бұрын
Another reason to leave Peanut happy and healthy at home, where no one was being bitten.
@feidreth2504Ай бұрын
I'd rather just get the post-bite shots they'd need to give me than murder a squirrel for a quicker answer just to avoid some pokes. That person that got themself bitten shouldn't be handling animals without already being vaccinated anyway. That entire situation is so messed up.
@michaelm8806Ай бұрын
