This guys is so much fun to watch when he's spinning, his style and technique is totally original... I especially love how he stacks 2 or 3 record on the table so he can dump a record and go straight to the next record with ease. And no fucking headphones! Wish I didn't need my headphones, I'd be lost without them and my beat-matching / timing would suffer if put right on the spot like that. His records are labeled with tape or something on the edges so he knows where to scratch. Talk about practice makes perfect... You hear a Kid Koala track and you know it's him... His style is very original. Many are inspired by it or just straight up rip it off... But there will always be only one Kid koala! And Deltron 3030 is really growing on my too, you've got Koala and Dan the Automator producing the music and Del the Funky Homosapien on lyrics / vocals -- what's not to love?!

Check out Kid Koala's Breezeblock mix, just search for it here on KZbin... It's a fairly short mix but hits so many different genres while keeping your toes tapping to the beat. It's one of my personal favorite recorded DJ sets. Love it!
@KnitOutTheJams10 жыл бұрын
The song he drops at 4:20 is called "All Around Man", an old blues song that became popular when yet another white man covered it. It's hard to place which artist's version he uses as Koala has significantly slowed down the tempo which causes the voice to lower notably.
@KnitOutTheJams10 жыл бұрын
The original recorded artist was Bo Carter.

I Couldn't find anything to sound like harp, or even the melody in "all around man" through youtube.

Most likely Koala pulled the sample from Rory Gallagher rendition..

@truesouljs13 жыл бұрын
@polaroidsky Hi. Most turntablists don't use headphones. They have their records marked with stickers which act as cue points, also they know their tunes inside out! For more examples of non-headphone dj'ing just watch any DMC performance. In case you don't know the DMC is a dj battle/competition. Peace.
