I was a 10 year old white kid who fell in love with hip hop/rnb around 88 (I’m now 46 middle aged). Guy, NE, Kane, EPMD, and Kid n Play we’re some of favorite groups. They multiple hits from their first album and their videos were fun and entertaining. Just because they weren’t Rakim or Kane lyrically doesnt mean they weren’t a great hip hop group. Look at this performance! I had a Kid N Play 2 Hype t shirt from Cowtown, NJ too. The Golden Era will never be replicated

these two were superheros to most kids i knew they were like my peers on steroids and hyped up. they was just like us but with fly clothes and all the bells and whistles i wore this song out everytime it played tried to grow a high top but it was taking to long so i got an s-curl and got a play cut with all the fresh lines and my initials in the back. with a shag of course.when we went to church after all us kids would go to the annex building where there was a stage and a stereo and instruments. until we got a little too comfortable and started rapping and abusing the drumset and dancing provocativelywhen the problem was they could hear us outside the church and ultimitley we were not acting the way god fearing chistians should in gods house it was just like all the movies that was out like footloose and the like when the authorities bust in the joint and stop the youth from doing their thing.good times

Just to think life and rap music back than was simple. The cost of living was inexpensive compared to today. The 80's and 90'S were something else. Imagine going back in time with what you know now but you did not know back then. What would you tell your younger version self!! Both the 80's and 90'S had it's dark, unforgettable, depression, happy, sad , best, lovely moments .
