I listen to your reviews in preparation for my own chronological read through the EU, though I have read a great many of these already. Sith academies, particularly on Korriban were not a recent invention but were an ancient concept and intended for those who were inclined toward Sith philosophy but not necessarily inclined toward the mantle of Dark Lord. These academies were also less about the academics than learning to utilize the Force while culling the weak and foolish from their ranks before they advanced so far that they threatened to upend the plans of greater Sith masters such as any using the title Darth. Often they would carefully select prime candidates such as natural bullies, angry victims, the proud, and the ambitious, many of whom would not have been traceable in a galactic system of hundreds of trillions of beings. While some were doubtless of Sith parentage, it is likely that most of these teenagers were closer in mindset to an early Darth Bane. Imagine what might have been his attitude toward the academy if he had been found young just after killing his father and been taken to the academy.

Star Wars Red Harvest is a book I have mixed feelings on. I like the idea of the sickness/Blackwing virus being born from sith alchemy and there is some fun moments but yeah I'm not a mega fan of the Sith Academy thing either, I know it's KOTOR times but it seems out of character for the Sith. Buts it's good for what it is but I think Death Troopers is fantastic (reminded me of if Star Wars, Alien and the Resident Evil and Dead Space games had a baby)

Did you see Professor Geek's Book Study of Red Harvest? Made me appreciate the book a bit more.

Isn’t there like 2 or 3 other sith academies in the EU?
