The Porsche GT1 Strassenversion is the holy grail. The GT1 won Le Mans for Porsche and the headlights on the silver one is what they used on the 996, the 1998 version of 911. And that generation of 911 are extremely cheap because people didn't like the headlights. So one of the most rare Porsches have the headlights of the most hated generation of 911 because of the headlights. I love that fact and it means we not-so-rich people can buy amazing 911s, the last truely analog 911, for a fraction of the cost of any other 911.

Amazing collection!!! The GT1 cars will always have a special place in my heart (as will Group C), but I have to admit... the lines of the P1 GTR are just so beautiful! I know the P1 is far from the most valuable car in that collection, and certainly not the most historically significant, but it's still so damn beautiful in my eyes!

Oh my! This video alone is absolutely a holy grail to any automotive history enthusiasts! I am so glad that this has been shared with the world, so thank you all at Kidd in a Sweet Shop as well Björn Schmidt and all of his team. Now, though, just for fun, I would like to try and start a conversation about some statements made. LONG COMMENT, but please engage. Mr. Schmidt stated that the CLK GTR was the first time that a race car was reverse engineered to be a road car, but I would argue that the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL could qualify as such. As I have heard, Mercedes originally did not plan on selling it to the general public, nor were they required to for the class it ran in. However, some of their clientele persuaded them to make them for the road. Also, Jodie stated that Gordon Murray "designed a car that was going to win on the race track, but also you could drive.... to the shops" and I may have to disagree. Sorry Mrs. Kidd, but I believe that I have heard the opposite. I think that Gordon was very much against the idea of his car having anything to do with the race track, and protested the idea of McLaren making the GTR at first. He soley wanted it to be the ultimate road car, and it just so happened to be a phenomenal race car. Of course it would though because of the team behind it's creation! I only bring up these points in the hopes of striking a conversation, and if anyone reads this and disagrees with me, PLEASE engage me in a conversation. That is if anyone makes it this far. what people dont realize is these gt1 cars including the clk gtr are and were special because they werent like hypercars today where if you have enough money you could just buy them as a range topper, you had to be lucky and a great customer, they were made SIMPLY to win Lemans in the mid 90s to early 00s the best time for sportscar racing there was EPIC races

I just discovered this channel rather recently, and I must say this might be one of the most high quality auto enthusiast channels out there. Also what is the name of the car/how can I look up this specific car at 24:48? I’ve always wanted the BMW M1 ProCar that was painted by Andy Warhol, but this Porsche is just as gorgeous. I want to look it up so I can get every angle of it to design it on game. Edit: it’s so rare to see even 1 of these cars like the GT1 or the CLK, but multiple of each? That’s insane!

My choice is definitely the GTO black Ferrari. I'm a bit tired of McLaren because the F1 version is the perfect driver's car. Other McLaren versions feel soulless and superficial. Other cars are great cars too. I appreciate collections where you can drive cars every day. Otherwise, it would look like a zoo of cars where the cars are crammed just to stand and look just like a beautiful piece of furniture or an object. Glad you got more candy from a full belly Jodie!
