A well done WW2 era United States Navy training film on the basics of flight in the Stearman N2S biplane trainer aircraft. Noted movie actor Robert Taylor stars as a flight instructor, a role he actually fulfilled in real life during the war years. There is also considerable humor included in the form of a ham- handed, bone-head cadet who consistently fouls up. This is the the flying cadet's introduction to flight training.

That is Robert Taylor. Hollywood actor.

And he really was an instructor pilot with the US Navy during the latter part of WWII. He learned to fly before the war and owned and flew a Beech 18..

Don't understand the reason for keeping the throttle full open and mixture full rich after shutdown and keeping it there at 56:56

Careful to secure the gas cap it could spray high octane gasoline on your skin........but use your finer to make sure the gas tank is full...lol
