Did he say 168 homocides that year? When Chicago had 975 plus in 91? I grew up around death and it was so normal when I was a kid. When I was 14 one of the baddest dudes on my block got killed this was 91, the following year his brother got killed, 92. Losing friends was normal. Chicago is actually weak today compared to the old days.

I love how Mantz hops out of the cockpit wearing a suit and tie. Today it would be a flight suit emblazoned with patches and a military flight helmet.

Bob Hoover and Chuck Yeager were training squadron mates. Both had exceptional eyesight and could usually spot the enemy first. This was true of most all of the top pilots. Robert S Johnson, Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover, Richard Bong all reported they were usually the first to spot the enemy. As a side note, Bob Hoover had to get special dispensation on his pilots license to fly into his 90’s. Most people have to give their pilots license in their 70’s or early 80’s.

Q: What makes you own that piece of dirt?" A: "I can do illegal stuff there if I don't get caught".

Because property taxes are non negotiable, private ownership of land doesn't really exist in the US, even for landlords. RIght or wrong the government owns all the land. Some little dude with acne, spraying his gang's initial's on the wall in the middle of the night is just so far from owning the neighborhood, it's pathetic.
@overcastfriday814 ай бұрын
We had a boy in the neighborhood that just wished he was a gangster. This wanna be situation kept going for years and the parents didn't care either way. In his late teens, a car drove by and shot him, killing him instantly. The odd thing is, he probably thought going out that way was cool.
