I dont know why because the whole first 25mins were heartbreaking, but i burst into tears as she said the girls were outside but i couldnt see them because their faces were completely covered over. That just really got to me and will forever get to me! It infuriates me that some cultures/religions have these views of women, that they are lesser. Its disgusting!! Women have it hard enough in "the free world", i cant even imagine for a second living in a strict muslim country as a woman. Terrifying and makes me sick to my stomach!

I grew up with so much respect for me as a girl. my mom, an ex catholic irish nun, my dad an atheist german....both of them hammered into me that I should never ever think a boy can do anything more or better than I can, that boys/men are not greater or better. I lost my parents at a young age, but they gave me this along the way. I am horrified, heartbroken and devastated that women/girls have it any other way!! He expected me to recover and go back but my pregnancy was complicated, so I remained in the UK. Once my son was born, I realised the marriage had to end. He threatened to get into the UK and take him. He managed to get in via Scotland when my son was 3 years old. He knew where I lived and what nursery my son attended. None of that knowledge came from me. Knowing this may one day happen I had informed the nursery and so when he turned up there, they immediately phoned me and wouldn't allow him to take my child. The issue here isn’t about different cultures…the problem is these men who indulge in the Western lifestyle of sleeping around, having kids out of wedlock, drinking and clubbing, securing the unassuming white girl, then abusing and exploiting religion when it suits them for self interests to oppress and manipulate her, without having any knowledge of the faith of Islam which is utterly opposed to what he has committed. The repercussions of this is that daughters from that marriage pay the heavy price of their father’s guilt where he fears his sinful lifestyle will come back and bite him on the bum through his daughters indulging in the same misbehaviours he committed. Hence the extreme measures of repression and restriction on the daughters to the point of mental and physical abuse where the rest of their lives are ruined.

Horrible and sad. Please young ladies, save yourselves and stay away from men of this culture, that has no place in the real world.

What a horrible story. How heartless that man was! Help jackie to bring her other daughter and her grandfathers. Its just sad. So sad. I'm overwhelmed today-- had watched an australian documentary about an afghani girl who was killed by her husband six weeks after her forced marriage.

Wondetful and just beautiful relationship. Mother daughter relationships are mostly pretty close and bonded from very early on in life!
