Thank you so much! We haven’t found a mask to fit a toddler, we bought one that said it was, but the fit was too big. This is extremely helpful! What helps is you give us a guide which we can also adjust as needed. Maybe now our toddler can get out of the house for a small walk at least.

Thanks for the tutorial. Please can I use scuba material for kids? It feels comfortable and I don't need extra straps for tieing since the fabric is elastic.
@CocoziniDIY4 жыл бұрын
I haven't really worked with scuba materials so I don't know how tight the stitches are. You may need lining to it for protection and also make up for the earlobe. Which means you may have to add 2 or 3 inches to the sides and create a hole for the ears.
@ezinneamakajeremiah20094 жыл бұрын
@@CocoziniDIY yes that's how I made the one for adults and the stitches are tight enough. Thank you.

Hello I have a question what is the point of sewing right under the edge of the face mask? What is this type of stitching called where you outline everything?
@CocoziniDIY4 жыл бұрын
The point is just to hold the fabric in place. If you don't want to you don't have to. It just makes it more flat and secured. Also the stitching is called edge stitch and I think some people call it top stitch.

Pinking sheers to cut the notches for the curves on the seams would be so much better that cutting towards the seam. I understand most people won’t have pinking sheers...or even know what they are.
@CocoziniDIY4 жыл бұрын
Super Beth you’re right a lot of people do not have any idea of what pinking sheers look like or what they are or if there is. My intent is to make it as simple as possible for those that are new to sewing.

Why don't you use the elastic around the ear?

Because kids sometimes complain about elastics hurting their ears.

Here is a tutorial where I made different sizes of mask. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5-biquqi9ugpdU Here are the finished measurement of the sizes when you fold the mask. For XSmall its 4" long by 3.75" height, Small is 5" long by 4.75" height, Medium 6"long by 5.75 height, Large is 7" long and 6.75" height. Hope this helps.

I'm glad it was helpful. 6" is the average elastic size for adult so I think 5"or 4" will be okay for kids depending on how stretchy the elastic is.

@CocoziniDIY4 жыл бұрын
Here is a pattern I did for XS to XL - If the 8-10 are bigger kids then size small will work for them. If they are average 8-10 then use the method in the video on this link here to grade the pattern up by quarter of an inch. I hope this works. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5-biquqi9ugpdU
