Kids and Dogs Best Friends | Mattresses, Sunrises, Science Experiments, Fire Place

An old mattress is a fun new trampoline for both kids and dogs as the sun rises on the horizon. What better company at this time of the morning than a big bunch of furry four legged friends.
Louis watches from inside on his cat tree.
Banjo makes sure his mate Kitty is ok up a tree.
Some slow risers inside. Enjoying the warm sun in their armchairs. With the door open, they come and go. Ziggy using Abra as his pillow.
Elle does some drawing while her shepherd mates sleep with one eye open.
Shadow’s favourite pastime is going on bush adventures by herself after the birds. She sure is living her best life. Her own bush playground available whenever she likes. She loves to play games with those pesky birds.
Lots of playtime in the big paddock. Lily and Rover wrestle. Rover is everyone’s best mate.
Freddo chases some car driving turning around in our driveway as it takes off. “And stay out!” He tells them. Shepherd pack close behind.
Cuddle time on the table. Maggie is soaking it up. Luke remembers when Maggie first arrived and she would curl her lip at a shake of the finger in her face. She now knows what a finger shake means, as does Miss Violet. But we still her feistiness with many of the cheeky pack members … it’s Maggie and we love her.
Abra’s been in for desexing. The vets gave her a little bit more than usual of the pre med because they don’t trust her. Fair call. She’s a Mali with both parents bred, trained and sold for PPD. But we know both sides of Abra. That side, and then there’s the beautiful best friend and guardian to the children. We have to acknowledge and respect both sides. But her love for the kids is enormous.
The kids are learning about gases and other matter and effects in science at the moment. So Dad does a fun science experiment with them out in the big paddock … it’s called elephant toothpaste. I think it’s supposed to be bigger but the kids were impressed nonetheless.
Skateboarding and scootering in the driveway. Dad gets on the skateboard and Rosco likes to play fun police … in his usual pretend way. No skating here … but keep going so I can have some fun trying to eat you as you try to make it to the other side.
More bush runs and paddock fun.
End of the day, Elle is caught wrestling with Tank and Abra in bed. Yep our messy unmade beds on the floor 🙈 … but have shared anyway because it was a lovely moment. Thought it might bring a smile.
Then its time to snuggle up together on the couch with the fire going. Everyone finds their spots. Some on top of each other. It’s peaceful and you can almost hear them dreaming of tomorrow’s adventures.

That Rover is such the “Miss Congeniality” of the pack. Just a happy, playful soul. I don’t recall seeing him play with Lily before. Actually I don’t recall Lilly playing with anyone in some time. Only her stick game with Luke. I’m glad Rover can even make her play. Elle seems to have the magic touch with Abra. She’s such a lucky girl. Kids are all growing too fast. Your eldest is getting really good with Abra … she seems very comfortable around her and doesn’t react to Abra … and still being mindful of her but shows no apprehension … knowing full well Abra’s an alligator! 🤣 Abra’s gotten really good with the kids as she’s maturing … she really contains herself around them. Have you officially adopted her yet? I can’t see her being anywhere else! It’s like the life of O’Reilly on The Farm … who would ever want to leave, if they didn’t have to. I noticed in the next few frames of Abra being on the mattress that one of Shepherds showed up … and then followed by Freddo … no surprise there! 😊 It’s almost like they were keeping an eye on Abra, making she maintained her composure, around the kids. One surprise is how much Rover gets along with almost ALL the dogs now … even Lilly who tends to be a bit of a crusty old gal and somewhat of a matriarch, at times! Isn’t Roscoe the Deputy Sheriff? 😊 He doesn’t get that title for nothing! You can see the pack is getting so much closer as a family … their cohesiveness is more apparent and even Cruiser wants to be a part of it … but I think he knows he’s on quicksand. He sticks close to Luke when they’re in that particular play area. Hopefully he can overcome his genetics, after the last altercation. Wolfie is looking so much more grown up vs. that toddler look, per se. The hair cut I think does it! Going to be neat when he starts talking sentences and his personality starts to shine through … like the girls! Wish our Winter season was like your’s. As cold as it may get there, it certainly beats the Great White North in 🇨🇦!

And when was the last time you saw Lilly actually playing with something other than her stick or a toy? She’s playful with Luke and her stick … but not particularly with the other dogs! So Rover seems to bring some of the more hard core dogs, out of their shells somewhat. I think he/she has a special gift! 🤗

Maggie just really loving the pets and rubs today. And Cruiser, such a sweet boy up on the table getting his pets and even putting his paw out for another pet from dad❤ hes come so far i thnk and hes not even a dog, bless his Dingo heart, hes learning the communication best he can. As Luke said a while back, Cruiser didnt speak dog lang be and the dogs didnt speak Dingo, so they had a bit of a communication problem.

I LOVED everything about this video. The sunrise was amazing with kids /dogs playing on the mattress. So good to see the staffy family. I love them, and Abra, look at her loving the kids. Every soul on that farm is loved and thriving. It’s wonderful to see kids barefoot outdoors and that the environment they’re in is a diverse, creative space where anything is possible. If only all childhood could look like this! It’s clear Abra adores Elle and somehow Elle is unafraid and stands her ground with the Maligator. Loved Sheriff Rosco asserting skateboarding boundaries. Not even Dad can break the rules 😂 Thank you for sharing the joy you find in the simple things in life.

Thank you brightened my day, bleak and cold in Brisbane, needed a bit of sunshine and smiles and you gave them in truck loads, so many things to mention, but cant get over how big Abra is getting, when will she stop, love to see Elle with the dogs, she is such a natural talent with the dogs, and Wolfie goodness he is growing so fast, and Evie always the little mother to Wolfie, thank you again, beautiful video, and whats a little mess when everyone is having fun.
