What Would You Do? (WWYD) is a hidden camera show, hosted by ABC News correspondent John Quinones, in which unknowing bystanders are placed in uncomfortable, and often compromising real world scenarios in public. WWYD’s hidden cameras focus on the average person’s responses and reactions to these issues of social responsibility. Topics such as gay couples being affectionate in public, date rape, racism and racial profiling, interracial couples, abusive parents, drunk driving, and harassment of the homeless are touched upon in this series. I was helping my mother put groceries into the car and we were singing Christmas songs and a little boy walked passed me, turned around very excited and said mom, it's Santa! She looked very embarrassed but the boy kept saying Mom, I know it's Santa! (I am a chubby black woman btw that had on a maroon wool coat) I smiled and gave him a candy cane out of my bag and gave him the shhhh! sign. You should have seen his big blue eyes light up. He said, I knew you were Santa! I know that boy is going to be a great person when he grows up. He didn't stop to think or rationalize that this person can't be Santa, she's black and a woman. In his mind, he saw the red coat and I was singing and smiling so that was enough for him. I never forgot that moment, that pure joy and happiness on his face. I hope Christmas will always be a magical time for him!

So one time in 7th grade last year, before christmas vacation, we were in social studies class and my social studies teacher showed us a small clay model of a black santa claus. When i first saw it i was thinking, ''santa's not black!'' my teacher then said that in some places, people belive in black santa. Black or white santa is still santa! Coca Cola popularized Santa, they're the ones who made him Caucasian, and there's nothing wrong with that. Santa has been every skin tone but the history of Santa is white. A simple google search will show you this. At one point he was even a real person named St. Nicholas , A monk who approached A shoe maker to make toys from his discarded cloths. St. Nicholas would give out the hand made toys to poor children once a year. After he died other people would take up the roll as "Santa" and continue to give out toys once a year. this idea spread from one place to another and before you know it every one wanted to be Santa. Coca-cola made Santa into what he is today in the west but Santa has been all around the world. Now any one who gives out of the kindness of there heart is in fact Santa.

Skip to Veneration and celebrations, the last paragraph explains how Christmas was named his day and was based of Yule a pagan feast to celebrate winter solstice and the return of the sun. More interestingly if you look at the photos most of them you will noticed is a black or dark Asian skin tone. We will never know what he really looked like however most people can agree that he was a real person that had a big impact on the way the world changed around him even after he passed away.
