They deserved international success! The 80's had sooo many top Australian bands! There is nothing today.

Yeah its ironic - only 15 million back then and yet there was so much talent. Now we have nearly double that population and barely any talent.

Always reminds me of watching Wide World of Sports back in '84/85, with Gibbo and Chappelli! When they were cutting to an ad break, they'd always play the horn section of the song. Awesome!

Revisiting this for the first time in over 35 years. All I can say is I'm blown away. It's simply stunning... How the band never made it big overseas is a mystery. Comparisons to Spandau Ballet and Simple Minds are very, very valid. KITK are at least as good, if not better. The production values on their albums is still almost unbelievable...

Finding this song on a dusty old record I pulled from a thrift store bin changed the way I see music. The rad old 80s album artwork, the dust-covered sleeve, and this incredible gem shining through the dusty old wax changed the way I see music.

@@SpookyFox1000 Don't overdo it. It's pretty cool all right, but there's thousands to choose from, many even better than this and there's nothing at all wrong with this one! Which shows you how great the 80s were, not that you'd know it with the truly warped and inaccurate version of it that remains in tiny slivers on radio today!

I remember this song all too well. I was an Arts/Law student at Melbourne University and had a crush on a girl named Frances who was in my German class. She liked this band and song. 38 years later I still like the song ... and still have a crush on her. A song title was never more appropriate.🤣

I love the juxtaposition of the hopeful, powerful melody to the lyrics which are about a relationship that is lost and hopeless. It creates a powerful emotional reaction that I can't quite explain, but I love it!
