I've made dozens of these for my kids' Montessori classes. I exchanged the velcro for a button, and an elastic loop to fasten it on the side. It works really well! Thank you for this.

This is such a great tutorial! I've been looking for something that would be easy for my 3-year-old nephew to manage and that didn't have ties so my sister wouldn't freak out about him choking himself, and I think this will be it. Thank you!

The neck strap is too big and bulky for the back of the neck and would be very uncomfortable. A flatter strap that is velcroed or has a snap on it would be more advisable.
