The exploding dice and dice size mechanics are used in Savage Worlds. Great game.

Spielberg *and* Stephen King. Both Kids on Bikes and Stranger Things owe something to IT and Stand By Me, in my opinion. Good video, some good rules to use

Kids on Bikes is possibly my favorite RPG of all time, and I've been running for 30+ years. It was so much fun. And I use a variant of the town, rumor, and character relationship questions in almost every game now.

I use the Kids on Bikes character connections/relationships tables for a lot of things. With small modifications, they work for just about any system as part of a session zero.

Great video and Kids on Bikes is an awesome RPG. I also would love to suggest you please consider doing a video on "Dark Places and Demogorgons" It is also a similar game set in the 80s that has a slightly cheaper starting cost and is also extremely well made and fun. I have been running a campaign in that system now for about 5 months. In fact, many who play Kids on Bikes also swap ideas back and forth between the two games. Also, there are two versions of Dark Places and Demogorgons one for the rules system called Survive This and another for Old School Essentials, both versions are awesome. Don't get me wrong I like Kids on Bikes as well but in the genre, there are options to explore, and wanted to mention the other one as well. Again fantastic video.

I played with exploding dice since Open Legend came out (a seemingly not supported anymore crowdfunded rpg) , it's really nice. We use if in my homebrew game for dice roll but attributes are an additional dice (exemple a roll with +2 proficiency would be add a D4 to your D20 roll and so forth), so it's these roll that get the exploding reroll thingy. It's really cool when you roll low and you get to save your butt with 2 exploding dice after! We also consider 30+ on a roll as a crit, so these exploding dices makes the dice rolls really that much more impactful in game. We don't use it for damage because in our game everything has 4-8 HP so it would get out of hand quick.

Awesome video! I would like to add cuz I think it’s something that would be cool to add to your series. Is in 3.5 they had the same rule at you could just a take a 10 and add your mod to it to succeed in easy or free checks. Also look in to dungeon crawl classics they have a great rule on increasing and decreasing dices

Teens In Space felt kinda odd to me because it most makes me think of Space Cases, but I don't think as many people were as attached to that show as kids.

I have run dmpc characters in a majority of my games with my friends and all of them in combat went like this, "ok, what should they do? By default they will cast fire bolt and look for somewhere safe to go unless you want them to do something else"
