That works for some people, but in the US, a large percentage of the population are unemployed because they want to be unemployed (I know four adults that are collecting SS and have never held jobs and never paid into SS) and the rest of us pay their way.

I would have to become an alcoholic drug addict that put my parents in debt before they were adults to thank them for all they have done to me. NOT FOR ME and that is just a start to the love they have shown me. I haven't talked to my Dad in years and I only speak to my mother because her issues caught up and she is going through dementia and athritis and a list of other health issues and even tho my parents were shit I do not abandon family and no one else will help in fact my younger brother still bothers her for cash when he fucks up at 35 while he doesnt know it is really my money she is giving him.

?? Gotta say there is something wrong with any parent accepting soooo much cash from their child, (unless the child won the lottery and are set for life) that is just starting out in life... a parents love is unconditional and the responsible reaction of a parent should be gracious for the gesture, but a stern insistence that the child keep all their money in the bank for a rainy day, and assure their child that they can pay the bills like they always have and therefore set a example on how to be a responsible grown adult.
